Home Design 3D - GOLD EDITION

I spent hours upon hours using this seemingly great app to draw up initial plans for a meeting with our architect to only lose it when I was asked to choose between a “live” or “cloud” version of the same file. I opted for the cloud, assuming it would be the safest option (both files had identical dates and times attached to them so I was unable to differentiate between the two) only to find that it was an old version and I’m now unable to access the up to date version. I had used the app on multiple occasions and had never had this issue before. One frustrated user over here!

For what you pay this is an excellent, easy to use non-subscription app for quickly capturing or noodling with design ideas. This would be a five star app if they had a ramps in addition to stairs (when designing for people with mobility challenges/wheelchair users) and if were possible to add basements. If they ever do add these features, I’ll adjust my review upwards!

i love this app, i’ve been using it for years now. the only problem i have w this app is that it glitches and closes the app everytime i try and add a roof onto my projects. it doesn’t do it all the time but it’s rare when it actually lets me add a roof

The app crashes, the interface looks as if it has gone back in date! Can’t even load projects that have been done previously before. The joystick is the wrong position - if you are adding in objects etc you will need to close the pop up to move around. Not much new objects added in. As a fan of the app it is disappointing to see what has now happened to the app. What is needed is more objects such as cars etc.

Since the major update there’s so many bugs. Mainly around trying to housekeep old project files. I think the common link is I’m on iCloud but I’m not sure. Bugs include - can’t delete projects as they reappear again, crashes constantly when deleting multiple projects, trying to drag drop into folders the thumbnail is different to the dragged project ie it’s getting confused what I’m selecting. The new layouts aren’t totally obvious of what’s where if you’re used to the old GUI. Marking this as 1* so these bugs get seen. Been using this for years before now.

I’ve been using this application to design a courtyard in Beijing and am extremely happy with how intuitive the product is, especially with the choice of materials and furniture. The ability in real time to see your designs come to life, change the daytime and seasonal light, really makes the whole process incredibly smooth and proactive. If your looking for an app that will bring your ideas closer to life, then I can heartily recommend it. However, it certainly has some weaknesses that couldn’t allow me to give it 5 stars. Firstly, the ability to see measurements of structures, windows, furniture etc in topographic 2D is excellent, but it falls apart when there are no measurements visible in 3D or there is no way to measure the height of construction adjustment you make in a 2D side view. What a missed opportunity and means you are forever ‘winging it’ with visual estimations regarding the height of nearly all objects. Secondly, and extremely importantly, you can’t share information in CAD format. This is incredibly short sighted by the designers, as all builders, factories and architects will need this content. I’d be happy to pay as an additional option and or be able to send measurements in a third party file format CAD can utilise. As it stands, recipients must have the same software to see in 3D or you can only send a topographical 2D print with measurements, either option still does not solve the issue that multiple downline industries will need comprehension 3D measurements in CAD. Thirdly, despite purchasing every addition possible, the choice of garden shrubs, trees etc is extremely lacklustre to say the least. When needing to design circular, elliptical or smooth shaped land or paths the option is simply NOT available. Adding this as an option is extremely necessary, along with many more choices for greenery. Again, all resolvable with designers making a little more effort rewarded with a paywall addition. Fourthly and finally, the support team couldn’t really answer any of these issues with anything close to a competent reply, but hey, at this price point, the app is well worth your time if you’re not wanting to translate your ideas into real world results. If you are however, the app needs to adapt or I suggest you think twice.

It’s the best be used. It has a few quirks and the style and of the objects isn’t to my taste but I enjoy using it.

I love this app so much , I had the free version for a while before but it really frustrated me because there were so many great objects that I couldn’t access and I couldn’t save. But on the gold version you have complete access to everything and can save, there are also lots more awesomely set up homes to check out!

I love this game. Me and my sister love making exciting builds and looking at other people’s projects to see what the community is doing. I have had the game for nearly two years now and last year I purchased home design gold after I realised how good a game it was. It really helps with interior design/architecture skills that can help a lot in the future. All of this is why I give the game 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My suggestion is that you make a function so if friends or family have the game, you can send your projects to them so they can look around. I also think It would be a nice idea to make a function where you can share projects with one friend or family member (links in with my other suggestion) and then they have full access to the project and you can both build in the same plot if you’re both working on something together. This is something me and my sister have been talking about for a while and we think it would be a great update to the game. This would help us a lot as most of the year my sister is at university so then we can create projects, but be long distance. Please try and get back to me if you have time:) 😁
