HUD Widgets

Non-distracting driving assist

Published by: HUDWAY

Description

HUD Widgets app is a set of handy and popular navigation widgets, like speedometers, trip info, landmeter, weather, eco-driving, etc... All widgets work in regular or head-up display (HUD) mode.
Speedometers:
— Classic digital speedometer
— Digital, with compass, odometer, and distance traveled (Chevrolet Aveo style)
— A set of retro speedometers: Cadillac style, arched, circular
GPS trip information:
— See how safely you drive: the app calculates your driving score based on your acceleration, braking, turns, and speeding data.
— Know your fuel consumption per each trip and the expenses on it.
— Information on your current, maximum and average speed, distance and time traveled
— Large compass
— Eco-driving. Acceleration and deceleration graphs indicate driving efficiency
Other:
— Internet Radio
— Land meter. Indicates the angle of car slope or tilt — pitching and rolling
— Weather and clock
Launch the app, select the widget, and place the smartphone close to the windshield (to use it in HUD mode, with the screen image reflected onto the windshield), or fix it in the mount.
Attention!
1. On a clear day, the device screen brightness is typically insufficient to give a decent reflection for HUD mode. In that situation, you can use the app in standard mode with the phone fixed with some mount, OR stay HUD using our HUDWAY Glass accessory (more at hudwayglass.com or see bellow). At night, in dusk, or in dull weather the reflection is normally well-discernible.
2. Continuous use of geolocation services (GPS and GLONASS) may drain your device battery fast.
3. When driving, make sure that your smartphone or tablet is well fixed in some mount or on some sticky pad, and doesn't prevent you from clearly seeing the road.
HUDWAY Glass car accessory makes smartphone work as a head-up display in any car even in daytime. Removes doubling, offers sharp enlarged reflection image.

HUD Widgets Reviews

Good,but glitching

Pan Lukas Chun Xi on

It glitches after 3 or 4 uses, goes into the Home Screen

Great app but needs OBD2 support.

QWil19 on

This has the best UI out of every HUD app I’ve seen imo. Only downside is that data like speed, fuel level, etc can’t be display via an OBD2 adapter. Using GPS all the time is horrible for battery life.

Like the look but cant seem to use as widgets

Phillip Lanos on

I wonder are these not supposed to be used as widgets? Dont seem to be able to use them as widgets on the iPad as a page on home.

Outstanding

I bought this app after looking through the entire AppStore with the word “speedometer” or something along the lines of it but eventually stumbled along this app, I decided to download it and was pleased, There are no ads and the customization is limited In some certain areas but has a little something for everybody and the speedometer itself is very smooth, the only drawbacks of the app is some features are locked with am addon you can buy for 2.99$ and the app doesn’t have a portrait mode (hold phone vertical) but despite the drawbacks I think I can stop searching and use this.

So much potential!

Love the clean UI. Would be really awesome if it can also pair with Apple CarPlay to be like the secondary display!

Does not support iOS widgets

You can’t use this for individual widgets on the home screen. Pretty misleading name.

Better than I thought

Let’s get this straight, I am very skeptical and very picky I downloaded a whole bunch of HUD apps to see how they were A lot of them made me pay a lot of money for premium features for this one you watch one ad and get premium features all of them for a day I am very happy with this.

Looks promising

kevster0011 on

I’ve gone through a lot of similar apps and this one is the one that fits the profile of what I’m looking for. The only thing that was a bummer was that this app does not support portrait mode (so like your phone up straight) only landscape and that’s not how my phone holder works in my car.... But other than that it looks promising!

CarPlay compatibility

Marsbob on

United States

Excellent app for the phone but I would love to see this as a app compatible with CarPlay head units.......I have a electric classic car and these digital gauges would solve a lot of challenges with telemetry is such conversions.

Shady to have to allow notification to being able to use this app

Fedebarbero on

United States

As mentioned some time ago by a fellow user (_Dundee_) its kind of shady and most often to find inside google play apps than rather into app store, app that just to being able to launch, beforehand you have to allow notifications. I will erase it right away because I don't find that to be a good practice.
