I connected an IKEA bulb to the HUE app (and got the IKEA remote connected to it). It took me a while to get it going, but in the end it was me using the touchlink feature incorrectly. You simply have to wait around 10 seconds before the HUE app shows the changes made on the light by the remote. The app could improve by showing some confirmation that a device was changed/connected through touchlink.
Bought the app for the widgets. Now with the most recent update widgets are gone! Was this a mistake? If not, I want my money back.
Vant get it to work
Added a IKEA Tradfri (really old model) to my Hue bridge without any trouble. The wizard for configuring the Hue Dimmer Switch is superb!
I purchased the app hoping to be able to configure Hue better with more options but there are too many bugs/limitations preventing me to do what I want. There is potential but not very useful as it is today.
This app has made me delete the original Hue-app. Interface is not as nice but once configured all works like a charm. Configured my remotes to fade for 3 sec when switching scenes and changed it to only cycle 3 scenes instead of five like in philips app. Also added my IKEA cabinet lights in the new kitchen, works great. The dance sensation turns the living room into a disco for the kids every other weekend, syncing lights with the mic, very welcome.
Works perfectly to pair ex. IKEA bulbs, even one reeelly old one paired perfectly, despite Ikeas own app didn’t support it! 5/5
Useless
I’m so glad it works for me! Ok i’m only using it with the Philips HUE devices, don’t want to add the IKEA budget devices even if i got them in the other building! Now would be nice with a Light DJ screen where you could add/sync beats and fire of various effects like rotating lights from lamps placed in a circle or Strobe and black out... Also a Light Sequenser where you could build and run your own sequenses on demand! Fun app works well for me.
A lot of reviews saying that the touchlink feature doesn’t work, but it does. I got it working after about 2 or 3 tries, watch the tutorial video, do exactly as they do in the video and you should get it working :)
