I use most of the available painting apps that are worth the effort. I started pushing and busting pixels pre 2K when Photoshop was at v3.5 and if you didn’t have a CD ROM drive you had the option of installing with the 3.5” floppies that came in the plastic binder folders … all 15 of them - and Painter came in an actual aluminum gallon of paint which was made by a Santa Cruz company called Fractal Design. With everything you can accomplish with procreate these days, it lacks the painting engine that other apps have and requires you to look the other way when it comes to the realistic feel of applying paint and mixing on the fly. This app doesn’t do all of that precise object manipulation and placing, but it sure feels nice to paint with color and use your pencil’s pressure to mix and adjust size with. The only thing I would suggest an improvement with is a better and more obvious tool sizing interface. Other than that it does what it says it does and that’s all I want it to do. Great job devs!
