If this was a game on consoled or pc I definitely would not rate it 5 stars but this is one of the best mobile games out there. I’m a huge fan of rouge likes and exploration and it aces that. Not to mention the amazing world design and art style, and music. Combat isn’t amazing at the beginning but it gets wayyy better after a bit, give it a try.

Simply wonderful, I wish there were more games like it.

Top notch

I don’t often buy games nor write reviews but this game delivered. It took me a little while as I chipped at it bit by bit every night, but every bit worth more than the next. I found myself driven to play, explore every corner for secrets, challenge myself against opponents I thought were extremely difficult, improve my skills and just get lost in the magic this game brought me. I don’t replay the campaign in games I beat, as I find it ruins the wonder it brings to me the first time round. But you only need to play this game once in your life to remember it forever. Thanks for a ripper experience 😛 PS, played on a PS4 controller and it was utterly exceptional the whole way through.

This game RULES

A bit baffling at first, but as it gets going it delivers all of the amazing gameplay of the classic console games of yore (the 80s/90s). The art direction and sound are really contemporary and vibey, which takes it away from being a retro piece only. Seems too easy at first, but there is a really great rhythm to the ups and downs of the difficulty... lots of exploring and puzzle-solving, and then HACK SLASH HOLY SH*** AAAGH The sprite animation is really cool, reminds me of the Sega Megadrive or SNES games we used to play. Love this game. I don’t know how far I am through it, but I’d be happy for it to go on for ages.

Great port

Never thought a fast-paced ARPG such as HLD be played well on mobile, but the controls are actually pretty good. Only negative is that the game itself is still hard. Good luck completing some of the very hard achievements e.g. 800 dashes. They should nerf the requirements, just like they did for NG+ where we (mobile players) get an extra bar of health compared to other versions. Also, it would be nice if this game had widescreen support for the newer phones instead of using borders. In addition, can you please fit the name of your games (under their app icons) on the screen without an ellipsis? I hate seeing names being truncated. Atm it is being displayed as “HyperLightD...” on my iPhone. Would be nice if you could abbreviate it to “HLD”, “Hyper”, “Hyper Light”, “Drifter” or something similar.

Instant Classic!!!

Loved it!! 100% worth the cost. I could not put it down once I started. This is a must for anyone with a RPG/Pixel Graphic bend. Great difficulty progression and movement takes time to master but less is more. Enjoy 🐣😉😊🙏🦾

charming but obtuse

Kingkritical on

This is probably the most engaging game I’ve played on iOS. It’s beautiful, but unfortunately can be a little frustrating. Like the game’s map screen: it’s beautiful but not very good of showing what to do or where you are. Definitely worth playing, a flawed diamond is still a diamond

I couldn’t put it down

A fantastic game with tight controls (played with Xb1 controller), stunning art and a beautiful soundtrack. The upgrade system is really rewarding and matches the difficulty curve perfectly. Buy, buy, buy!

amazing graphic, terrible hand feeling

Euan8923 on

I’ve been playing this game for about 3 hours so maybe the hand-feeling could change on later game, but it has already driven me crazy- the character we control can do some fast blink like Rock Man Zero which is pretty cool, but when he walks or stop drifting you can feel that he moves too lagged, like walking on the glue or muddy ground, and control him through dragging thumb on flat screen makes it worse... many times I don’t even know whether he’s following my lead or not ~ hope this can be adjusted.

Pretty Good
