Iarnród Éireann – Irish Rail

This app is so basic, it really is a waste of the space it takes on your device. No ability to purchase tickets or seat selection. When looking at live train information, it doesn’t even state how many carriages are for each train. You could be one end of the platform and a 4 carriage Dart arrives meaning you have to make your way up the platform and squeeze in to the last carriage. Needs a complete overhaul and redevelopment.

How on earth does the app input the wrong time the dart leaves at. The app said the dart would leave at 30 past but when I got to the station at 27 past the dart had just left. Normally I would put up with this level of incompetence and stupidity but I missed a dart to greystones and the excellent dart schedule had not scheduled another dart for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Fine if all you want to do is see what train services are available. BUT… you can’t book tickets / can’t see existing bookings / can’t download tickets to app.

Can’t buy tickets, Can’t save tickets, Can’t log into account, You can’t even view fares. Don’t bother and just use google maps

Did someone actually get paid to create this APP. Surely something as basic as seat selection should be easy. Show d seat numbers to help seat selection with fellow travellers. That is only one of several flaws. It was so bad that I felt obliged to leave a review in d hope that someone Irish Rail will fix it. Did I ever see such a poor rating on a website… Irish Rail please take note.

I don’t get it.

App is useless, 2023 and still have to queue up to print ticket at station. I cannot think of a travel app this badly designed.

Avoid the app and avoid Irish trains

So bad. No use to anyone. Can’t check booking made. The worst app ever.
