iChill

Guided wellness skills

Description

Are you feeling stressed, not quite yourself, or worried about a loved one? iChill is here to help. iChill teaches six wellness skills from the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® and Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® to help you manage sensations associated with trauma and stress, enhancing your well-being.
Based on the biology of the human nervous system, iChill helps us understand and regulate our body's natural rhythms. When in harmony, our nervous system aids in navigating life's challenges, helping us make sound decisions for ourselves and our community. This balanced state is called the Resilient Zone or "Okay Zone."
Stressful events can bump us into the High Zone (anxious, uptight) or Low Zone (numb, disconnected). iChill helps us return to our Okay Zone, restoring balance. Regular practice of these skills can reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, improving overall well-being. iChill benefits children, teens, and adults of all ages. It helps us answer the question, “What else is true?” leaning into our strengths to help manage distress in the present moment.
iChill is not meant as a substitute for counseling with a licensed mental health professional.

Emotional regulation simplified! Love this app!

Sasha_Strauss on

The skills taught in this app are invaluable for regulating your emotions and nervous system. The skills are simple enough to be taught to children while being effective for all ages. I highly recommend this app!!!

Love the update, so grateful

I really love the update. It’s been a few weeks since I used the skills and I just worked through a few in the app and notice deeper relaxation in my legs and more open breathing, even though I’ve had a stressful night with my family. I like the timer at the end of the skill to remind to really practice tracking pleasant or neutral sensations. If you are newly becoming aware of your nervous system’s sensations, it feels strange at first but becomes so impactful.

Disappointing

This is essentially a small series of webpages broken down into sections for an app. They have general info that it reads to you and that’s about it. Considering they have typos on the home page of the app, I shouldn’t be surprised. “Resilent zone before” “Resilent zone after” “Resilency images”. If your app is modeling the Trauma Resiliency Model, it’s probably a good idea to spell “resiliency” correctly. This app might be somewhat helpful for people that are brand new to behavioral health treatment and have never touched CBT before but otherwise? Not worth bothering to download, imho.

Helps with PTSD

Each exercise is straight forward and the audio option makes it so much easier when I’m too triggered to read. I can just lay there and apply the simple instructions to the best of my ability. When I track before and after, I’m always less triggered after the exercises. Really appreciate this app and will recommend it to others.

Helpful

As a first responder with PTSD I have found this app to be helpful on low days. It is helpful for me to understand why my body is doing what it is doing.

Useless

CTPianist on

United States

The sound won’t work which makes the app fairly useless.

Too text heavy

If you have difficulty processing text during an anxiety attack this isn’t the tool for you.

Recommended by my therapist

My therapist recommended this app, we go through similar exercises together. I use the app when I’m feeling whatever gnarly thing I happen to be feeling and am on my own and have to cope without the aid of my therapist. I have PTSD and it’s a very confusing thing to go through but, it definitely helps (so much), knowing that it’s not just all in your head but your body is also processing the trauma and you may not be cognizant of the fact that the sensations you are feeling are related to the event. This app helps to ground me and make sense of what I’m feeling. I def recommend, especially if you are unwilling or unable to see a trauma therapist.
