DOS on iPad

polynektar on

AMAZING!! You can play any DOS games on an ipad. Mouse and keyboard is supported. ESC key is command+command. My feedback for improvement is to have the ipad's physical keyboard mappable, so we can choose our keys, since iPad keyboard doesn't have all the keys (like ESC and numpad).

Great App!!

Black_X_Light on

This app is great and I use it all the time to run old DOS games that I love! My only issue is that some of the DOS game I have come on multiple floppy disk images, and I can’t figure out how to install them. I can mount the first floppy disk, but when the install program asks me to insert the next disk, it won’t let me remove the first disk that I put in. I wish the interface just provided an already mounted a drive that you could just swap disk images into. I simply can’t figure out how to install games that have multiple disk images for installing them.

Cant believe how well this works

Works with everything i throw at it, you can mount folders to make your save game drives, mount cd iso backups you have of old old games! My 80s and 90s computer gaming are back baby! Also wordstar 7 works with this George R.R.Martin! You can write anywhere now, my man. Icloud backed up even.

Please hide cursor when using iPad Magic trackpad!

Stedog on

United States

It would be great if you could automatically hide the iPad cursor when using the trackpad on the iPad Magic Keyboard. Other apps can do this, and the previous iDOS did this properly. It kind of kills the experience to have a double cursor. Thanks! [Update: seems to be triggered by hitting the ESC key on the keyboard, as the cursor is hidden until then]

Pure perfection

I almost lost faith that I could play old games on my iPad normally, and here iDos is back in business. Thanks for your work, man!

ctrl alt del

Windows Xp Ultimate on

United States

I am trying to install some games, and they require to press ctrl alt del to finish setup. ctrl alt del is super hard to do and it doesnt do anything. Besides that, this app will most likely have a great future overtime.

Multiple floppy disk installers

UserNumber111 on

United States

Many installers which use multiple floppy disks expect you to eject and insert another floppy image. There’s no way to do this, if you select a second floppy image it says there’s already an image mounted on the a: drive. You can’t unmount it without running the umount command, which is not possible during an installer. The ctrl-f4 shortcut doesn’t work when multiple floppies are selected. A UI for mounting multiple floppies and switching between them with the existing dosbox ctrl-f4 functionality would help with this issue.

Awesome app

ALeitt on

United States

This is a great app, but it does have a learning curve. For example, 1 reviewer here said that it doesn’t work with iso files, but it absolutely does. You just have to know how to mount disks (Select disk drive in portrait mode, choose your iso file location, type D: to select it, and press enter to select disk.) and navigate directories (such as typing dir to check files). It has been a great app and I love learning how to use it. The only minor complaint I have is that it doesn’t seem that you can choose a disk in landscape mode. That isn’t a problem on an iPhone, but can be a little cumbersome on iPad.

Glad it’s back

Let’s hope it doesn’t get deleted like last time…

Great dos emulator but just dos

TTV_Michael8 on

United States

This is a really good dos emulator and i really like it, but the floppy disks and cd disks are not identifying. I am not sure what file types it supports, but PLEASE add support for .img and .iso disks. It isnt cool how these file types just dont work on this and that just limits a lot of things i could have done. I would assume that .flp is the type, but wheres the .iso then? Add .iso if your going to add an insert cd image tab. This is still great by the end of the day but i want these file types to be supported so i can do way more
