《三國記II》是三國記系列的第2部作品，是一款正統的歷史模擬策略遊戲。以中國東漢末年的三國時期為總體背景，圍繞著爭奪大陸霸權，展開了一系列的故事。
《三國記II》採取直接在大地圖上進行遊戲和戰鬥，讓玩家體驗征戰四方的快感。
遊戲中國加入了糧道系統，一旦糧道被斷，有可能功敗垂成，當然玩家可以截斷敵人糧道來獲取戰局優勢。
遊戲中有上百種武將技能，所有名將都有自己的專屬技能，這些技能在戰鬥或者外交時發揮著重要的作用。
遊戲中有多種外交，玩家可以效仿蘇秦張儀，對各勢力進行合縱連橫。
遊戲中有賜婚功能，而且武將之間的親密度達到一定程度，自己也完成會結婚或者結拜，並且武將結婚之後，可以生育子女，而且有機率會繼承父母的技能。
