DIGITAL AND INTERACTIVE CHILDREN STORIES
“Il était des fois” is an application that makes it possible for the reader to give life to his very own story. The role selection, the selection of the main character, the different points of view, the confrontation of the various narrations, all become interchangeable units. “Il était des fois” gives the child a chance to be the author of his own story, and gives a helping hand to all the parents who are a little bit out of ideas for the bedtime stories.

SELECTION OF THE MAIN CHARACTER
What are you more into? A story about villains or about good guys?
Before launching your story, select your main character.

CHANGE OF POINT OF VIEW
You want to know what’s happening on the other side?
At any point in the story, rotate your iPad to change the point of view and then follow another character.

COMPARE THE THREE STORYTELLINGS
And what about the educational purpose of all this?
By rotating your iPad by 180°, you’ll be able to compare how the three stories go on.

“Il était des fois” is a project created by Valentin Gall and Olivier Castille.
First developed at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, it was then finalized at the Gobelins l’École de l’image. The project is supported by the European Social Fund.
SETUP
“Il était des fois” exists in French and English. This app doesn’t work on iPad 1. It works on iPad 2 and on every new versions.
