Description

Fakeit: Impostor Word Game is a digital party game that turns any gathering into a fun and engaging experience. The app digitally recreates the classic mechanics of social games like Spyfall, specifically adapted for mobile devices.
How It Works
The game follows a structured flow in several stages:
Category Selection: Players choose from 6 carefully crafted thematic categories – Foods, Retro, K-pop, Anime, Brands, and Cities. Each category contains 20 unique words related to the theme, ensuring variety and replayability.
Player Setup: The app supports 3 to 10 participants, offering flexibility for small or large groups. Players are added individually with an animated and visually appealing interface.
Game Customization: Users can configure the number of impostors (1 to 3), enable impostor hints, and set the round duration (3 to 10 minutes), adapting the experience to the group’s preferences.
Secret Distribution: Each player secretly receives a word from the chosen category, except for the impostors, who do not know the secret word. This is the core mechanic of the game.
Discussion Phase: During the allotted time, players discuss and act based on their words without revealing them directly, while trying to identify who the impostors are.
Voting: Everyone votes simultaneously on who they believe the impostors are, creating tension and strategy.
Results Reveal: The app automatically calculates the winners – regular players win if all impostors are identified; impostors win if they remain undetected.
Technical Features
The app was built with React Native and Expo, delivering a native experience on iOS . The interface uses dynamic gradients that change based on the game’s outcome – green for player victory, red for impostor victory.
Monetization
The business model includes premium categories (K-pop, Anime, Brands, Cities, Retro) accessible via subscription, while the Foods category remains free. Strategically placed interstitial ads appear between game phases.
International Support
Available in multiple languages (English, Spanish, French, German), making it globally accessible.
Social Value
The app eliminates the need for physical cards or complex setup, elegantly digitalizing a traditional social experience in an accessible way.
