In The Day Reviews

Awesome app

This is the best app to get information on what a price of something in the past is worth today. Most people compare prices directly, but they are not the same. For instance, 1967 bucket of Kentucky fried chicken for $3.75 would actually cost $35 today. That means it is way cheaper today than it was back then by a factor of 2 1/2 times. You can't just compare prices and say it's equal. A real eye-opener.

Love this app

I don’t even really review apps, but I wanted to show this one some love. One of my favorite things to do when I’m reading or watching something that takes place in a different era is adjust dollar amounts mentioned for inflation. It helps me understand the stakes at the time. Sometimes I wish it went back a little further, such as Civil War era, but that’s my only critique. Not worth deducting any stars. I love the simplicity of this app.

I use this App almost daily. I am curious person and when watching an old movie from 1936 and they say "she was left a generous sum of $5000" I want to know what amount of money that is in present day and instantly I get my answer.

I’m working on a campaign to raise the minimum wage. This tool is super helpful for breaking down what dollar amounts actually mean.

I’m working on a novel set from the 1930s to the 1990s, and was always searching the internet for comparative costs. Plus, I’m an avid fan of Antiques Roadshow and the like. This app has earned a place on my first screen—very easy to use, and much faster. My 🧠 is happy!
