INDS Data Manager (IDM) by Jeppesen and Honeywell provides pilots and operators, who subscribe to INDS services, the ability to seamlessly upload their flight-critical databases directly to the Honeywell avionics, through a wireless connection, to the aircraft using an iPad and a supported wireless gateway. This iPad application is a first for the aviation industry. With the proper aircraft equipment and configuration, it greatly improves efficiencies in the data update process. By combining the data distribution and data loader process into one simple tool, it saves pilots and operators time and cost uploading the aircraft with flight-critical information each cycle.
AIRCRAFT HARDWARE CONFIGURATIONS:
• Aspen Avionics CG200P + Honeywell Primus Apex Integrated Flight Deck
• Aspen Avionics CG100P + Honeywell Primus Apex Integrated Flight Deck
.Honeywell DLMU-W Phase 1 + Honeywell Primus Epic Integrated Avionics
You get the following with INDS Data Manager:
• Ability to download databases directly to the iPad
• Ability to upload databases direct to the avionics
• Filter services by the phase of update (download to iPad, upload to avionics)
• Filter services by aircraft tail and service type

A step backwards
Terrible interface. Unintuitive. Unstable. Easy to make timely and costly mistakes while uploading. I’m not sure I would even try fixing this app. Just go back to the old INDS. Doesn’t deserve the one star we’re forced here to give.
UPDATE: Actually makes me consider purchasing a different aircraft all together to get away from Honeywell. AOG many times because of this terrible app and the people who manage it.
Jeppesen + Honeywell = Disaster
I have been struggling with the INDS app for over a year now. Unfortunately, in the Pilatus I have no other choice - if I did, I would pay double to leave this service and get something that works consistently. Truly, this has been a disaster.
One example: If you mess up your password and it locks you out, it may take an entire day for the system to let you back in! Normally, if you are locked out of an App, you can call customer service and they can open back up your access - NOT with this one. If you are in the middle of nowhere and end up locked out of your INDS app, forget uploading any databases for a day … possibly longer. Customer service, while nice, has no way to help you … they cannot re-open your access … you are just screwed.
Here is another example of their problems: When I first got the app and paid for the service (which is not cheap) - it took me over 4 hours on the phone with support, and going all the way up through programmers, to get it to upload into my aircraft. Again, a disaster.
Then, they do updates and releases and every time, I shudder. It is always a risk as to if it is going to work or not. TERRIBLE … AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Bad to worse
So now with new improved IDM 2023I have to uninstall and reinstall the app each and every time I use it. Will Honeywell ever get this right? Farm this one out, get the experts to write you some new code, so far you’re a total failure!
Won’t save login information
If an app developer can’t figure out how to make it so you don’t have to type your login info every time then they need to start firing their staff. Ridiculous.
Honeywell disappoints daily
It isn’t bad enough that I swear in the cockpit at the frustrating interface, they’ve changed the app “for improvement” to give me a reason to curse at home as well.
Cut the legal staff in half, make it easier to log in (actually save my log in info) and get my data, and reduce the subscription rate with the reduced legal staff costs.
Honeywell avionics is a primary driver for making me consider a different corporate aircraft because it is integrated into Pilatus aircraft. I’m saying this as a professional pilot.
Worst Ap Ever
This is the most confusing and hardest to run application I’ve ever worked with. It only actually works half the time, logs me out constantly. It’s just awful and the safety of flight depends on it. Avoid at all costs.
Needs major improvement
Was hoping for an improvement over the old INDS app but so far this is a big step backwards. They must have completely skipped beta testing. I have yet to complete a single problem free upload and have wasted hours on troubleshooting. Desperately needs to be fixed. A company like Honeywell should be able to do better. This thing is amateurish.
Locks up random and quits
Worse then original INDS app, not sure why Honeywell seems to always have these issues. Takes hours to do anything.
Horrendous App
Actually deserves zero stars. Filled with bugs. Horrible interface. Constantly freezes up and doesn’t finish the upload into the aircraft. If you terminate the upload process before 100%, you run the risk of scrambling the AGM cards in the aircraft, which means a visit to a service center and $$$. Do better Honeywell!
