Inkitt FAQ
Is Inkitt free?
Yes, Inkitt is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Inkitt legit?
🤔 The Inkitt app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
While I love Inkitt I have to keep deleting and reinstalling the app because when I get to the end of a chapter when I try to move to the next chapter there is a blank screen and have to go backwards and forwards until the next chapter loads. If I go to the menu to select a character it skips chapter and won’t load what I select. This is driving me absolutely crazy. Please fix this or I will have to find another app.
Constantly Glitching?
Absolutely love Inkitt and I’ve been on here for years and years. I’ve been using the app for the last 1/2 years now (originally online on a laptop and now on my phone) and never had a problem until now.
A few weeks ago, noticed how the chapters weren’t loading like normal so I had a feeling that the app glitched, got out and tried again, still didn’t work. Uninstalled the app and then reinstalled, still didn’t work, searched it up (said to do what I already had done) tried it all again, with no luck.
So stopped reading for a few days thinking it may resolve on its own, no. I’ve done the whole uninstall and reinstall all over again and nothing is working.
I’ve had to resort back to the online method (which I now hate because the app was super easy and convenient to use) just to read my books, including the books from the paid subscriptions I have.
Tried some new books tonight thinking that maybe it’s just subscription books because the free ones were working before.
No they not working now either, you just get either the first paragraph of writing or nothing.
It’s gotten to the point where I think I’m just going to cancel my subscription and stop using Inkitt and move on to Wattpad or something because at least their website is a lot easier to use on a phone.
Inkitt review
I am very happy with Inkitt I haven’t had any problems and the stories on here are absolutely fantastic I love how there are so many different genres and topics to read. Inkitt hasn’t disappointed me at all so far
Great App
Great books and mostly free.
Needs a lot of work
It’s hard to find stories & even harder to see if the story is finished before you start reading as most of the story don’t get updated for months or never. So you either waste your time looking for a story or getting into a story that never gets update. Inkitt need to put a lot of work into the app to make it easier for people to use..
Keeps going back to main menu
When I am Inkitt when category menu everytime when I click on catergory and have a look at a book when I click out of the book it keeps going back to the main page it doesn’t stay category when I press go back is their anyway to fix that otherwise enjoy inkitt app immensely
Can’t link Facebook and inkitt
Okay so I have been on this app for a long time and recently got a new phone. For my profile I linked it through Facebook, when it came time to login after downloading on my new phone I can not link them together and I had so many good stories on there
Doesn’t load after login
I wanted to give this app a try, but I couldn’t because nothing past the login page would load. Yes, I was connected to the internet and it was functioning just fine, and the problem was not resolved. Tried again with mobile data, no changes.
And no, I don’t have an account—I find it foolish to sign up for something that doesn’t guarantee to work properly or be enjoyable. You don’t get that problem with print material so I expect it to be no different with digital content.
Either way, please fix your app. I will consider changing my rating if you do.
UX needs to be improved
I can’t deny this app has a lot of potential. The quality of stories is significantly better than other apps like Wattpad and Radish and the interface is nice. however the ux is horribly bad and has gotten worse over the years. There’s so many glitches when opening up stories on the app or in the inbox widget where you face a 10s delay or you don’t get automatic refresh when you go in and out of the app. The worse is the constant app crashes that cause you to have to restart a chapter or lose your story. It’s a painful user experience tbh.
Best reading app
For a free reading app am surprised by the variety of genres and stories that are available to read. Also love that first time authors are given the opportunity to write. Thank you.
