Insecta provides an engaging way to explore the wonderful world of insects. It includes a collection of weird and colorful insects. Each member of the collection features a description, habitat information, and a gallery of photos. You’re able to interact with highly detailed 3D models of each insect and hang out with them in augmented reality.

The app’s amazing AR experience enhances users’ learning experience too. Choose from more than twenty insects from the collection and, in the blink of an eye, you’ll find one of those creepy creatures hanging out right by your desk. If your friends don’t believe you, take a picture and send it to them.

The Explorer is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment for Explorer subscription will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. The subscription will renew automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions at any time by going to your account settings on the App Store after purchase.

I have bought this app to identify a bug found in the soil of a lily plant finding it most difficult to identify the grub as instructionare no good I cannot move out of my camera mode. A waste of money! Very disappointed. Also doesn’t show many examples of bugs therefore no good !!!

Amazing AR models

I’m not sure why people are complaining that the app doesn’t feature every insect known to humankind, or that it doesn’t identify insects from the photos you take. Nowhere does the developer promise to do those things. Very unfair and unreasonable reviews. This is a great app with stunningly detailed AR models. I look forward to seeing which insects are added next!

24 insects!!!!

There's only 24 insects! There are over 900,000 out there! What are the chances of the insect you want more info on is one of the measly 24?!!! No response from The Explorer support! Absolute con!

Not worth any money as the moment

Pros: -It is informative -Pictures are detailed -AR works pretty well -Has potential... Cons: -Doesn’t identify any insect via camera and was hoping it would. -Hardly any insects to choose from -Can’t specify you search, for example. Show only insects found in the UK -App is pretty basic and needs a lot more added to it. Got app for free on a special deal, however deleted minutes later due to the lack of functions.
