Need Manual Tax Field
Tax field is by far the most cumbersome part of this app. Need ability to fill out Subtotal and Tax manually. OCR doesn’t work well either.

用InstaTip即刻小費計算器，只需通過攝像頭識別或者手動輸入小票賬單上的金額，便可以自動計算出小費和賬單金額，免去一次又一次的手動數學計算的煩惱。

It's just so annoying to do the math for the tip amount and write down the accurate total. When a check/bill goes to a party of people, splitting the check/bill just makes the math even harder.
InstaTip is a smart tip calculator and check/bill splitter for daily usage. This app is thoughtfully crafted to provide an intuitive UI to calculate the tip, round the total, and split with multiple people.
Core Features:
• Bill/Check text recognition for automatic tip calculation.
• Tip based on the tax-excluded amount (before tax), to avoid the unfair tip suggestions shown on the bill/check.
• An intuitive bill/check view. Just input what you see on the real bill/check and get the tip and total automatically.
• Customize the tax rates.
• Calculate the tip by 3 customizable tip rates or input tip rate directly.
• Tip rounding:
• Round total or tip up or down.
• Palindrome round. For example, $76.23 will be rounded to $76.67.
• Tautonym round. For example, $76.23 will be rounded to $76.76.
• Tip splitting, show tip per person and total per person.
• Display current date time and address to help to recall the payment.
Tips:
By using "Palindrome total" or "Tautonym total", you could easily validate your transaction on the credit card statement later.

The best tip calculator ever ! Keep up the Great Work! It’s very simple and I love it.
Calculates pre-tax tip! Yay!
You can add a custom sales tax % in the app settings.
Improvements are required
App is neat, but which could be more friendly, such as, manually fill the tax field, then automatically calculate the tax rate; manually fill the amount field, etc. Most of time, auto capture doesn’t work as expected.

Replaced Tipulator for me
Years ago I bought Tipulator, which did wonderful pre-tax tipping and palindrome calculations. It got abandoned, and I’d been looking for a replacement for years. Nothing was every quite right. This is the one! Two questions though: for the life of me I cannot find the location of how to purchase “Pro.” I find the ability to point my camera at the bill totally helpful, and want to have it unlocked permanently. Secondly: recently I had a bill where most of the items were dessert items that aren’t taxable. Their point of sale system was kind enough to only tax one of our four items. But the receipt came out like this: Sub total $14.75 Tax: $0.65 Total: $15.40 The problem was that this was a 8.25% tax rate one only a portion of the bill. So setting the tax rate to 8.25% wouldn’t work. Also, it was have been insane guessing to figure out what the tax rate was in this case. I mean, it was 8.25% of *some* of the bill. So like maybe 2.37%? 3.117%? Know what I mean? And the current way to set tax in the app is that you have to go create these tax fields in another secretion then try them out one at a time. It would have been Sooooooo much easier if I could have simple clicked on the tax AMOUNT and entered $0.65 and had it reverse calculate the percentage to the 1.97% or whatever it was. I’d love a developer response on those two points! Thanks!
