THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE APP
InTune began as a way for researchers to test pitch discrimination, the ability to differentiate pitches that are close together. But then researchers discovered that musicians improved the more often they played – 3x faster than those who didn’t. Download for free and see if InTune works for you!

AWESOM DESIGN but you should be able to To limit how high/low it goes and be able to listen to each tone again.

does what it says, although

great little ear training app for helping discern lower and higher pitches. The only thing I could wish for is a better sample sound for string instruments, that sounds more like a real instrument.

Great app

I wish there was a feature where you can choose different instruments for each pitch. Like have one on piano and one on oboe, make it more real world application

Easy to use, well-Designed tool for musicians. It’s useful both for soloists and ensemble members. Helps to improve pitch differentiation/accuracy. Highly recommended!

Timpani sounds just terrible..

You guys seriously decided to use those sound files and selling them? You can do better than that

I hope this app never gets taken down from the store. It’s a great idea! I wish there were more apps with ear training on the App Store.

Makes ear training a fun game!

Thank you! I use this app with my percussion students to help their ear for timpani tuning. It’s fun for them and I’m noticing improvement!

Oh please.

The reason the description to the app is so vague is because the app is incredibly simplistic, and really just junk. Here’s what it is since the designers don’t tell you. You hear a tone, then you hear another tone. You decide whether the second tone is higher or lower. That is the entire program. I actually thought that it would be interactive, as in you hear a tone, then sing the same tone, or in my case play that tone on the violin. No. Nothing like that. Really just a sound generator.

Please add a way to replay the pitches

I use this for tuning practice and highly recommend it. The old version was better in my opinion, but I still like this version. I like that the pitches are not played as fast with this new version, but I liked the scoring with the old version. I would love it if there were a way to hear the pitches played again. Sometimes a second listen is needed to make sure your brain is thinking correctly. Neither the first or second version has offered this. I figured that would be among the list of improvements foe sure. Also maybe something telling you where your problem areas are… which octaves… and those could be used to drill down even further.
