It’s just bad

Really bad…

I like the app

Jaysteag on

United States

I had a little trouble setting up an account on the app, but it has been properly working for about 4 months now. The Rheem water softener has been solid and this app has almost everything I need to see about the softener. I like that I can control the water hardness setting from the app as well as kick off a regeneration. I often check the water usage info if I haven’t heard from my elderly mother in a while just for reassurance that she is up and using water throughout the day. The alert notifications work as well. It will alert you if there is a continuous flow of water for a given amount of time which could be a leak. The reason for 4 stars is that there was some difficulty getting my account set up and the screens for changing settings or notifications are buggy.

Just like every other user has asked for

Algab82 on

It’s been a couple of years people have asked for valid upgrades and nothing. All the data is there, why can’t we get more robust information on this app?

No Recharge History!

United States

Other reviews have said the same thing — this app doesn’t add much at all. It could have a lot more value if it at least had a history of recharges!

App doesn’t connect

Wichitagirl on

App doesn’t connect with water softener at all. What a waste of money on a Wi-Fi water softener

Functions Too Limited

thebig on

United States

I decided to go with a new wifi water softener to have info for the inner workings of it. First thing I noticed was a table showing gallons used each day. I’m using this on a personal deep well so this function is of no use to me but I see it might be if they are on city water. Secondly the alerts for water leakage are odd in the way they are setup but seem to work. Finally the most odd thing that this water softener app is missing is regeneration info. Of all the things it should have had was regeneration history and feel this would have been the absolute first thing worked on when someone made this app if they ever had a water softener.

Terrible App

Hrodriguez91 on

I bought my new water softener and had connected it through the app. It worked for 4 hours and now the app keeps crashing and now it wont connect to the water softener. Not worth the extra 100 for the WiFi model.

Broken app

Djdviray21 on

I bought a Rheem water softener and it says to use this app but it wont even let me make an account. The app crashes and goes blank when i try to put information in.

Useless: Broken in every way

Neb Syam on

This app is absolutely useless. I have never left an app review before, but I have never used an app this bad. So bad that it actually detracts from the value of the product it’s for. 1. It freezes/blank screens/crashes every time you try to use any feature. 2. It shows no useful information, you can’t look at a prior weeks water usage history, and the information it does show is often wrong (it decided I used 62000 gal of water at midnight yesterday) 3. It actually detracts from the value of the softener because there are things you used to be able to monitor on the softener that they removed because you are supposed to be able to on see them in app (current gpm, usage, etc.). Now since it’s removed from the softener and the app doesn’t work, the features that have been present since the 90s are now unusable on your $3000 top of the line 2020 softener. An absolute shame to North Star and everyone else using this app.

Worst app!!!

The app does not give any useful info. Also, I was was logged in, and it locked up - I logged out and it won’t let me use my password to get back in. Tried to reset it, and I still haven’t received an email!!!
