Iris: Plants & Gardening

Super helpful when it comes to finding out how to look after my plants. Community is really nice on here. The new care tips update is amazing

I switched over to this app when my previous garden based app was closed down. It’s a really great app with lots of helpful tips for beginners like me. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because when I try and upload photos, I cannot edit how the picture appears before it’s posted. And by this I don’t mean adding filters etc. I mean, i cannot zoom in / out to focus on a particular part of a picture. Quite often I have taken photos using my camera and then later in the day when I post to the app it doesn’t show the whole photo or I can’t focus it onto a certain part etc… I have to either re-take using the camera feature on the app or crop the picture using editing tools on my phone. Just a minor bug bear of mine as any other app I have used, I have always been able to edit the photo prior to uploading.

Sadly the lovely app is no longer updating and am just getting the constant wheel circling without any access. Would have loved to have known who won the Chelsea tickets

This is the perfect gardening app to connect and share with like minded lovers of plants and all things garden related. The “help identify” is so useful in many ways and we all learn from each others knowledge. Brilliant!

I found Iris through the Crocus Gardening website, I expected it to be like some of the other gardening apps I’d previously downloaded and subsequently deleted, it’s not. Iris is a platform for anyone with an interest in plants or gardening. It’s inclusive, simple to use and holds a wealth of information in addition to the most friendly community. The user can be as active as they wish within the community but trust me, you’re missing out if you don’t get involved! You’ll receive a warm welcome alongside praise, tricks and tips from others passionate about their plants. Iris has built in plant identification software, perfect for helping you work out what’s what and you can build a library of all the plants you own and receive care tips to ensure your collection continues to thrive. The app is packed full of articles about every kind of plant or flower you could imagine and this cleverly links through to the Crocus Gardening website if you decide you want to boost your collection, but this does not feel forced or like a ‘sales pitch’ in any way. It’s like a gardening magazine subscription, except it’s free! It’s abundantly clear that a huge of amount of thought and effort has been put into developing and maintaining this app and it is a much welcomed alternative to social media. Finally a positive and productive use of my phone. Keep up the great work guys!

This is a superb app for all gardeners & plant lovers! 🪴🌱🪻🌹🌸🌻🌼🌷Unidentified plants are easily identified, you can get loads of info & help on plant care & the Iris community are terrific. Being able to follow people would make this app 100% but overall this app is one of my favourites on my phone - keep up the great work 5⭐️

I find the app a lot of fun and great to be connected with other gardening people. Would like camera identification if possible.
