Japanese Dungeon: Learn J-Word

I’ve been having trouble learning Japanese but this game really helps!

It’s good, the only complaint I have is that some of the English could use a bit of work, but it’s still understandable.

This game is my favorite to learn japanese

The amount of gold you have is cut off by the notch if you have a phone with a notch in the middle. You’ll never know how much gold you have. Using an iPhone 11 to play this and the notch covers the gold amount.

Love the app but a lot of the sounds sound very not accurate it has good story I love but when it comes to sound Quality it can improve for an example あ sounds like p instead of a うis very hard to hear but besides that I love the app and can use another app to get better quality audio

This app has singlehandedly helped me memorize the hiragana and katakana alphabet helping me excel through educational books learning words, phrases and grammar.

It’s really good! I love the concept. It helps me memorize the alphabets while having fun.

I’m taking my first year hiragana class and this app is helping tremendously. It’s fun design and accessibility allows me to have fun while using this for my actual learning.

I liked the idea behind the game but the execution doesn’t work well in my opinion. First the dialogue from the hero is terrible, it makes him come off as a jerk and makes me not want to play as him (or help him live long enough to go lust over the Japanese princess). Then the gameplay issue for me is that you have to study a page of words before you play the game since there’s a very short timer you have before selecting the correct answer. Select the wrong answer and you lose health in battles. I like this but I don’t like the very short timer since most people coming to play this game are trying to learn Japanese in a fun way and that short timer + the time spent studying the answers makes it not so fun to play. Yes it is an app to help you learn Japanese but it’s still a game and should balance fun gameplay with the learning.

Good for very basic memorization of hiragana. I would rather pay for the app and get all of the content than have a pay to play setup. The top bar does not fit on newer iPhones.
