The Kotel???
Jews direct prayers towards the site of The destroyed Bet Hamikdash in order to associate our prayers with the sacrificial system prior to the establishment of verbal prayer. We don’t pray towards the kotel! The kotel is a remnant of the retaining walls of the platform that once held the temple of Jerusalem.
