Found this app looking to train my ear in Chinese tones before jumping in to the language, and it is perfect! You not only practice tones, but you get to learn new vocabulary through examples. I love that the tones aren’t isolated always, so you really get a feel for how they work in sentences. Recommended this app to everyone in my Chinese speaking group 💙
Someone recommended this on a Chinese learning Discord to practice tones. So far it seems amazing for that. It's gamified and polished.
It's a great app, even if you think you “know tones already” I'd still suggest using it if you don't come from a language that uses tones (or the same tones Chinese uses ) it helps me further master the subtitles of how tones can sound from native speakers. It's a great review and practice. My only wish was that its voice detecting AIs would be more challenging and really listen to me. I don't know how much im actually being tested when I speak into it.
I like it, and do it every night
I’m enjoying the tone training. It’s really helpful for identifying which tone I am hearing and also the vocabulary. Given we‘re comparing characters. The heart system is a bit discouraging. After so many mistakes I deplete my hearts and have to wait 4 hours for a heart to regenerate. Not the best method for language learning when I need to stay engaged for retention. That aside I am enjoying the interface and the content.
It’s a great app
I’ve just started learning on this app and it’s been more effective than any other app I’ve ever used.
THIS IS A GREAT GAME TO PLAY WHILE STUDYING CHINESE. FORGET DUOLINGO THIS IS WHERE ITS AT!
I love this app. I just happened to stumble across it after reading a Reddit page, and this is by far the best app for practicing/learning tones. In addition to teaching tones, you can also pick up a few words that are in the examples. The voice recognition is great, and I appreciate how there are a variety of exercises. Overall, it’s a very slick and well-developed app with a friendly user interface. I strongly advise to give it a try!
