Nice app

XJuanchoX on

Japan

SRS is definitely a plus. However, few things I noticed: some words are written in their kanji form when they are almost never used, like 有り難う and 宜しく Makes learning harder for no reason. Lessons with more casual speak would also be nice. Also for some reason it marked すごいですねー wrong because of the ー

Lessons won’t work and paid for premium....

Paid for a month of premium just for the lessons to completely stop working.

Doesn’t work

taroufish on

I tried to load it both on my iPad and iPhone and it doesn’t work on either device. Had to sign up using Facebook because trying to sign up with email I’d get a message saying “email address already in use” and then it would pop up with a “Success you’ve signed up” only for me to be unable to click the continue button. So I would have to force quit. When I finally managed to log in all I got was a blank page of “conversations with Mizuki” or something like that. And the back button would just take me to the same page. Now I can’t even log in. When I click the Facebook button it just gets stuck on loading. How is this app so broken ?

I wish I could give a lower score

According to a review placed in August, there were only 50 lessons. It’s 30 November and only three lessons have been added. I was always under the impression that AI meant that new things are learned and applied. This is not happening here. After 140 days of using this app, Kaizen and their alleged AI is nothing more than BS. Your responses to reviews and emails without taking any action to update and make improvements to this app are meaningless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS APP!

Great

Good app

I couldn’t even start!

You start by answering questions, I said yes to all (I studied Japanese before, hiragana, kanji, adjectives, all yes) and still got me to a level 2 were a guy was introducing himself (as if I would have trouble introducing myself knowing Japanese already). He introduced himself, it was my turn. He didn’t understand my name no matter what I said. My name is my name, if you don’t get that I don’t even want to know how the rest of this app is! メリナです。”I am sorry, I don’t understand”... Suggestion: 私はメリナです。No one use watashi, I live in Japan. Anyways, I type 私はメリナです。”Sorry, can you repeat that?” He says. 🙄

Not for iPhone SE

東京、日本 on

Japan

Not usable on iPhone SE, sadly.

Few lessons and the answer are so fixed

phuongxy97 on

There are only 50 lessons, and I can not give another answer rather than the suggestion. How can I get refund?

Doesn't allow for message personalization.

jomarie118 on

I have my degree in Japanese and recently moved back To America after living in Japan for 7 years and downloaded this app to help me keep up with my language skills. However, it's very strict in what you can respond with. When I try to use more natural phrasing it says I'm incorrect and forces me to use their suggestions. When I was suggest to ask "どんな音楽が好きですか。" which I did, it said I was incorrect and should've said "そうですか。" I think the app would be useful for beginners but for higher levels it doesn't allow for creative responses.

It’s so fun
