Kanji lookup - simple, fast, and hassle-free!
This App is not a dictionary or an exhaustive Kanji reference - and nor does it strive to be! Instead, it focusses on - and attempts to excel at - one thing: Finding the meaning of an unknown Kanji character as quickly and easily as possible using the only way that really makes sense on a touch-enable device: by drawing it.
Stop wasting your time counting strokes, deciphering radicals, or learning the intricacies of 'well-designed' lookup schemes - simply start drawing the character and watch results appear instantaneously.
KanjiLookup does not clutter your results with obscure readings only found in the name of that one mountain village or cross-references to paper dictionaries you most likely don't own anyway. Instead, it simply shows you what you are looking for: The character's pronunciation and definition. In addition, a searchable list of the most relevant words containing the Kanji character is only a tap away.
Of course you can also search using the keyboard. KanjiLookup can even (optionally) search for all Kanji characters contained in text in the pasteboard.
KanjiLookup was designed from the ground up for minimal start-up time, nearly instantaneous handwriting recognition, and a clean interface that doesn't get in your way. It currently contains information for over 3500 Kanji, including but not limited to all the Joyo and Jinmeiyo characters.

When I traveled to Japan this was incredibly useful, you can use it with no wifi. The draw pad accurately recognises kanji and you can make words with them too. Always a good tool for studying kanji as it gives you a video on how to draw each kanji for free.Overall a very easy and incredibly useful app, I recommend to anyone studying Japanese.
Great app very useful for my efforts trying to learn japanesei
I find this app very very useful.
I would buy the pro version because I think the developer deserves it except that I’m worried after looking at its description that it won’t work the same way and I’ll what I have with this.
So if your reading this devs imo it would be better to have purchasable upgrade in the free app rather than having to buy a separate pro version.

Fabulous
Used in Japan and so useful and simple
Works great
Does it’s job perfectly. A wise choice for anyone intending to visit Japan or learning Japanese. 🎋
Great resource
Have had several movie phrases in my head that are hard to hear exactly, I have a review of that movie with 80% of the dialogue in text so I dug it out of file archives and of course couldn’t read the Kanji one app I had said I could paste the Kanji and look it up but I couldn’t extract the text from the screenshot photo so I went searching for a Kanji dictionary and found this first, found the Kanji I was looking for in only a few minutes 5 stars and contrary to other reviews it’s not only for beginners thanks just what I needed 10 stars.
Perfect
Does a really good job at guessing the kanji from my scribbles. Word feature is very handy too
Amazing for begginers
It is a useful tool for Kanji learners, of course with a limited scope when learning Japanese. In my case, it helps me a lot in my attempt to quickly translate the Kanjis used and found in some manga books (I am a very beginner). Don’t need waste time in physical books or dictionaries.
Top Tier App
Easily the best app for referencing characters or words you want to know. UI is really good and has watch support.
Payed to remove all advertisements but they’re still there!?
I payed to have all the advertisements removed but the google adds are still constantly on my screen???
You can’t advertise it as “pay to remove all advertisements from Kanji Lookup” and not actually “remove all advertisements” when we pay you to do so!
