Along the way, you will also discover more than 2000 of the most common Japanese words, sorted by real-world usage data, and unlocked once you know the relevant characters. Learn Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, and Vocabulary, all in one place with KanjiKen!
--- Info ---
KanjiKen (漢字剣 - lit. Kanji Sword) is here to help you learn Japanese!
Based on real Japanese language usage data, KanjiKen teaches the most common characters and words first. Learn how kanji characters are built and depend on each other, by puzzling together their sub-components by placing the components in the right place. Learn how to pronounce them with common word examples. Practice Hiragana and Katakana with the reading exercises.
KanjiKen offers a complete Kanji and Vocabulary list with a single button press. Don't worry about learning order or what to repeat next, KanjiKen got you covered! With a built-in spaced repetition system (SRS), KanjiKen prioritizes the exercises you struggle with most and helps you memorize and review the exercises effectively. If you get something wrong, the exercise will show up more. If you get a certain exercise right, it will show up less and less, before getting marked as learned and removed from your learning queue.
Study whenever you want. Unlike other apps, KanjiKen will never ask you to commit to unreasonable tasks, like doing hundreds of reviews on a single day. KanjiKen simply asks you to set a achivable time commitment, and helps you keep on track with a streak system and notifications. KanjiKen adapts to you, not the other way around.
--- Usage ---
KanjiKen is designed to be used in short sessions. Set a daily goal, anything between 1 and 30 minutes, and fill your daily quota while waiting for the bus, during downtime, or during a lunch break. A session is over if you hit your daily goal or make too many mistakes. But don't worry! You can start a new session after the time-out period of 30 minutes is over. Hit your daily goal and have some extra time? Just dismiss your daily goal and keep going!
