Very happy with the selection of Movies and Documentaries on Kanopy. Can always find something I enjoy watching and haven’t seen before. I feel often offers more than standard Streaming Services. Please keep up the Good Work
Great content
Thank you kanopy for giving such great content of our local library as an app.
Would be improved if movies could be viewed on full screen rather than such a small segment
Meh
It’s boring!
Kanopy with a K
My partner & I have had Kanopy accounts for about three years. The accounts were first activated at our municipal library in Melbourne, Australia. Kanopy is a welcome change to the plethora of (primarily US owned & operated) streaming platforms, that offer existing & commissioned media to paying subscribers. Currently, Kanopy functions much like national television networks, who stream free media on viewer demand. The selection of media on Kanopy is reasonably broad, with perhaps an emphasis on (copyright inexpensive) early 20th century Hollywood? I would like to see universal language translation to non-English speaking films, & the separation of short film from long form film in generalised catergories.
No menu in app, no recommendations, no reviews
Hard to search, hard to find what it has, hard to tell whether it is the best video
No chromecast

Eclectic mix of programs including lessons and docos
Love Kanopy which I access through my local library.
I was looking for a doco called Landfill Harmonic and couldn’t find it to view anywhere… but then I checked Kanopy and they had it. So happy. I’ve watched it twice so far and will probably watch it again. I’m also doing courses on Kanopy which has some amazing stuff from The Great Courses and other sources.
I wish our library had a subscription that allowed a bit more content. I also wish that Kanopy had a yes/no button so that when you click on something it doesn’t immediately deduct from your allowed tickets but confirms you want to access that content.
Hamilton
An excellent documentary that is critical to understanding both the foundations of the United States and the roots of much of its contemporary political turmoil.
Great Resource
Kanopy is amazing. Libraries are the best
The Mercy.
Donald Crowhurst and his sad demise have been an ongoing saga for me. Thinking about the why’s and wherefore, what sort of man he was, what was his relationship with his wife, children and society. I think l came down hard on Crowhurst. I saw ambition and vain glory, maybe a misanthrope, maybe a wanna be.
This film turned my opinions on their head. Maybe turned me on my head.
The acting is first class by the principles. The sets and locations very believable and rang true. The inside of the Teaigmouth Electron both artistic and beautifully lit. Editing, pacing and camera movement all very well executed.
Maybe the quiet sea state and sunshine experienced on board parallels the positive story line. Maybe there were more storms, maybe more black episodes in the Crowhurst story but I’m willing to take on board this love story run amuck because it is a mercy.
(Why, why why though must film makers, even for a moment, think that a sinking boat will have water pouring the a hole in the side of an obviously not sinking boat? )
A good honest film and very worth the watch.
