Kathy Rain is a beautiful and nostalgic homage to the classic point-and-click adventure genre of games, built seamlessly for your touchscreen device. Search for clues and solve puzzles in a compelling small-town drama set in the mid-1990’s.
After learning of her grandfather’s untimely passing, Kathy Rain, a strong-willed journalism student, returns to her hometown for the first time in many years to pay her respects — but things are not what they seem. An air of mystery surrounds the circumstances of Joseph Rain’s death, involving unsolved investigations and disturbing behavior from the locals, driving Kathy to vow to uncover the truth for her widowed grandmother.
As she follows a trail of clues he left behind, questions emerge… What was Joseph Rain really looking for that night all those years ago? What turned him into a mere shell of a man, confined to a wheelchair? What secret did a suicidal young artist take with her to the grave, and why are so many people in Conwell Springs going mad? Armed with her motorcycle, a pack of smokes, and her sharp wit, Kathy soon discovers that the truth is more dark and sinister than she ever imagined…

Kathy Rain FAQ

Kathy Rain is not free (it costs 2.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Kathy Rain legit?
🤔 The Kathy Rain app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
On day 1 everything had been done and yet wouldn’t allow me to go to the next day. Looked online for the walkthrough and it seemed I was right and had done all the steps, looked at everything, solved the puzzles, went to the correct locations exhausted all the dialog and so would never be able to go to the next day. Not great anyway to be honest but more annoying to waste time.
Incredible game
This was such a great game, I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of broken sword! I loved Kathy’s character
No director cut update for early supporters
Why not give us possibility to download directors cut? Do I really need to pay for the game again with small dlc? You keep updating and patching it when original version owners are left behind. Let early adopters download dlc for free or small fee.
Outdated
Probably used to be a good game… on iPhone 1 or so. It just looks so outdated now, the graphics are terrible and it doesn’t even fit the whole screen (as you can see in the screenshots in the AppStore). Shame, would be cool if they good update the graphics.
Incredible.
This is probably the greatest game I have ever played. There just aren’t enough words to describe how good it is, so I won’t try. But I’ll buy the directors cut and do it all again.

What a treat
For me it combined the things I liked best about this kind of adventure game with just a few tasteful features that make it easier to play for a modern sensibility.
Managed to feel totally authentically from that era, with amazing attention to detail on props, sound effects, sampled music in low bitrate just like games of the era had, character animations. Nothing jumped out as inconsistent or anachronisms- desktop computers had 8mb of RAM! A working tape player with tapes? Fabulous.
The puzzles are probably a bit easier than the toughest of games back in that era, but I think the game flows better for it. It made me feel smart to work some of them out, and so far not so obscure that I didn’t have a good idea of what to do next. Absolutely love it.
Most importantly, it’s made it feel like I used to feel when playing those games.
Well worth the money
This game has a moderate level of difficulty for a traditional point and click game- puzzles are generally logical with no pixel hunting. Art is nice. Where it really shines is the story. Thankfully the main pc isn’t just a stereotypical ‘bad ass’ female character but an actual relatable human being. Genuinely surprised at how invested I became. Great writing and well worth the price.
Great game but...
Awesome point and click adventure. Well worth the money. However it is a massive battery drain on the iPhone SE 2020. Maybe it is the phone?
Kathy Rain
Hi guys I have just purchased Kathy rain and it looked very interesting on loading I knew it showed that it is not compatible (as you stated) with my iPad with the latest upgrade and 12.5in screen the screen is very pixelated which makes this totally unplayable could you explain this problem and if it’s repairable if not could you please provide a full refund thank you
Not iPad Air 2 compatible
Horribly pixelated therefore it’s hard to tell what click on objects are. Listed on iTunes as compatible for this device. Needs an update to sort this problem. Unplayable in it’s current form
