Kauderwelsch

Kauderwelsch was initiated in 2020 by Florian Schröpel and Robin Schu, in the context of their thesis for BA in Media Design at DHBW Ravensburg.
The project aims to explore creative possibilities for the graphic translation of linguistic disturbance. For this purpose, a special typeface was designed: the FR Lamron. The new typeface is applied to augmented reality (AR) posters that portray exemplary situations in which people encounter barriers because of their language problems. A look behind the scenes is intended to provide viewers with problems of social interaction. The project finds a creative approach in deviation. The designers see themselves as eye-openers and cultural creators who want to contribute to a social discourse.
