How much does Kernel cost?
Kernel has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is $69.00.
The UI is wonderful and everything is so fluid. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into this. Especially coming from Nikias, you know it’ll be great. However there are a couple of things I’d like to see added.
Can we rate the tv shows/movies? When we recommend a show, etc to someone. Instead of just giving them a prompt to download can we get a cover art of what we are sending to at least let the person know what I am sending. 5 star app if those two things are added. Thanks!
Has gotten better
Kernel has come along way since I last used it. I’m glad to see that they finally added TV shows.
I have minor complaint. The streaming services shouldn’t be nestled in a watch category. If a movie or TV show is on Netflix, then just put a small Netflix logo up. If the show is streaming on multiple platform, then put their logos right next to the title.
Molt bona app, però…
Et felicito, tot i així hi ha encara algun bug, per exemple quan fas click sobre alguna de les pelis, et mostra l’última que has obert abans. Encara l’he de provar més. T’aniré donant feedback. 😉
Good app but miss some functionality
I love this app and his design but it miss a lot of functionality, like in the upcoming playlist, why movie that go out is not delete or we can’t delete them from this category ?
Incredible App
This has to be the most underrated app in the App Store. Well done!
Still unsure of the rationale for the 3.0 update
I’ve used Kernel for years. It filled a perfect niche for tracking when new movies would be released in theaters and was easy to do so chronologically.
The 3.0 update removed searching movies chronologically (seriously, why is the Discover page filled with completely random orderings across completely different times?). You can view them chronologically in your saved list but so can dozens of other films that track such lists (and offer far more features and customization by comparison).
I liked this app because it filled a useful, straightforward niche and did so beautifully without bloat. Notifications were perfect. I use different apps for tracking movies/shows, but this new kernel app seems to try to mimic some of the features of other apps but does so less well while removing what the made app great in the first place.
I really wanted to like the update, and perhaps I will if you re-add some of the functionality and simplicity of the older version of kernel. But after 7 months of waiting it doesn’t seem like that on the roadmap for the app moving forward for whatever reason. In an overcrowded movie/show market they’ve eliminated what made them stand out.
Glitch.
Once you finish watching the episode, you click the 👓. It switches back to the playlist, which is pretty annoying. Please make this app better than TV Forecast, which is what I currently use. I want to give this application a chance, but there are some annoying user interface issues.
Redesign is Awful
Was a nice app to have before they redesigned the app. No filtering system like chronological order or alphabetically. Titles scattered all over the place, impossible to find new/upcoming titles. I don’t know who decided on the redesign but it made me want to delete the app.
The app I’ve been waiting for!
I have been wanting an app like this for some time. Just an easy way to track what I’ve seen and what I want to watch. Love the playlists feature and the simplicity of the app.
My only suggestion is to add a like or dislike option for movies and shows. Great app. Please keep up the great work!
Love it!
Could you also make this app for Apple TV? Keep up the great work!
One more thing: you can sort movies & shows by popular or coming soon… Could you make it so the coming soon section is sorted by soonest to farthest away? Currently, the coming soon section is all jumbled, some coming in 4 days, some in 124, and as you keep scrolling, there is no rhyme or reason to the order.
Thanks! And keep up the great work!!
Cheers 🍻
