Key Collector Comics App Reviews
Best Comic Book App
This App is the most efficient, the most reliable, most trustworthy and transparent ex: they post cautions on Hot Books with unknown print counts , " buyer beware" notes ect... Has Taught me so much valuable comic book insight, I've definitely predicted a few Rockets!! Would Highly recommend to anyone not only searching for there comic books value , but to learn the history , first appearances, ect . Must have for the True Comic Book Collectors out there.
Good but
Scan is very slow, at least 1out of 10 titles won’t scan at least once or twice despite scanning properly once app is closed and reloaded. Biggest problem is that the previous scanned title remains in your window and you can’t remove it or go back to the scan window to refocus and scan a new title. I’m sure this is why it repeatedly refuses to recognize a new title. Too many time scan reveals titles that have nothing to do with your title you are scanning.
Your data is not getting tracked
And that’s awesome! There is no other app competitor like key collector when it comes to data. Everyone else is tracking you and selling your data.
For that alone, you get five stars from me.

Awesome app
My best friend Alfonso is always on this app 24/7. So now I am too.
Awesome
Love this app!! Best comic collector app out there!!!
Enjoy the Intel
Love all the updates: the keys of the weeks and variant views help me curate my pull list, “Nick’s Picks” offers educated insight, and the various categories are wonderful rabbit holes of interest to disappear down (now to go look up the Classic’s Illustrated versions of “Alice in Wonderland”)
I like the app
I wish though you can filter out keys that you are not interested in see like 35 cents etc this way there is less of a chance of accidentally marking a book as one you have. But other then that it’s a very nice app
Great App.
I’ve been using this app for a little over a year now. I can confidently say it’s my go to. Whether I’m in the comic shop or bored and want to check out comics, I consistently open it.
I’ve emailed customer support 2-3 times with legitimate app issues I’ve had in the past and they respond in a timely manner. They offer helpful tips and if the tips don’t work then they explain it will be updated shortly. For instance I have 2 newsstand FF issues that weren’t populating in the variants or non-key section of my collection section in the app. I toggled the buttons and they still wouldn’t populate. I sent screenshots of the issue and got a prompt response. Had I not, I might have given up on the app as, who knows how many other issues could get lost in the comic collection abyss without me knowing.
The community section is a nice feature, but when uploading issues and giving all the information needed, I have yet to get a response as to if it was accepted or not. Again, new feature, might take some time. It would be cool if the community could rate comics on a scale of 1-10 like IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes. I could also see this going horribly wrong but it’s a cool concept, along with a community comment section but… yeah that would go bad within a few hours of it being live. I guess that’s why we have Comic Tom.
All in all it’s a great app. My only gripe is the inconsistency with the prices. How some issues will be considered Keys then will get removed from a Key section. Especially how some of the Weekly Key Comics will disappear or not be searchable. For instance Ultimate Spider-Man Issue 3 was on the list weeks in advance, today the day it came out, it was taken off the list and was unreachable in the Keys of the Week section. I know how difficult app development can be so it’s not that big of an issue but if I wasn’t and didn’t have an understanding of how they work I might have a minor freak out. Thinking I missed the release or something else all together. My last two gripes are how difficult it is to find some of the top lists or again, how they disappear all together. For instance the “Top _____ Lists” used to have top variants, comics and appearances of ‘23, ‘22, ‘21 and maybe ‘19 & ‘18. They now only have Top _____ of ‘21. This is annoying. The other gripe is the price issue. Some issues are severely underpriced or overpriced if going off Price Charting and OverStreet. This could be a case of them only tracking through EBay and not getting the mos
Good
Good for information but scanner keeps freezing and I have to close and reopen app
