KidPass Reviews

No in-person classes outside of NY

boo232 on

Everything available is virtual for the Bay Area. No in person classes or experiences available in California. Very misleading.

Great customer service, poor screening of tutors.

We initially had some good experiences with our daughter on KidPass. When it came to sign up our son we got one bad tutor after another. Some seeming like they were not educators but maybe had just worked at a daycare. It was weird. Customer service team was always very nice and helpful. Good communicators. Unfortunately we asked for a full refund because of too many failed attempts to find a tutor that was a good fit for our son. Might try again in the future if I find the patience for it.

Not worth it!

KidPass used to be good pre-pandemic but now they have only online classes and when I put my membership on hold they deleted all the point I had been saving up. Total rip-off!

A subscription trap

Rhym2099 on

I’ve been with Kidpass for years. Pre-pandemic so more than 3. This is a very stingy money first company. Because they are a subscription based company they have over the years been creating anti-customer policies to keep the pressure on you to spend. I’ve been trapped for years to maintain my account under the threat of losing my credits if I cancel my account and I hate it. I have used my account off and on and I would love to continue to use my account when it suits my family conveniently but Kidpass does not care about that. They let you put a pause or hold on your account for up to 3 months, which seems reasonable but for me during COVID and during school months it becomes not sufficient. You cannot continue to hold past three months. There policy is you must pay for another month’s subscription before holding again. Previously they would not let you use your credits while on hold but they did change that and it was a big improvement for us who had a ton of credits built up. Overall if you join Kidpass you will pressure to use the credit and manage very closely that you don’t accumulate too many. This year they supposedly re-enacted a expiration policy. No credits over 90 days expire, which for many of use old customer applies to us. I nearly lost hundred of credits but got them back after fighting with customer service. I don’t see any reason for them to have an expiration policy at all… us customers bought and paid for these credits. I guess they don’t want customers buying credits in bulk because they want to keep increasing their prices for classes. Which they have done over the years. But they really de-incentivized us from buying credits or maintain our accounts for long term. If you cancel your subscription then all your credits are lost completely. As for the classes. It’s been hard for me to use up my old credits because there is nothing good on Kidpass. I once spent two credits on a dance class that was pre-recorded. I literally could have found something similar and free on YouTube. I live in nor-cal Bay Area, there is zero in person classes. Everything is 100% online. It was better before 2020 there was a lot of good options. Not anymore. I did back before 2020 have issues with no show teachers for jn person classes but did not experience that with any online. The only good online classes I can recommend is online academic tutoring, for which it has been a good experience and I would continue to do it again but won’t because Kid Pass hate

Worst app ever

I purchased 156 points with 6 dollars a points. 150 of them expired without any notice. Couldn’t contact anyone, no response.

Complete scam

An angers mom on

Kidpass is a scam. Do NOT do business with them. We paid monthly membership thought the pandemic to support the business and accumulated more than $690 worth of credits. We wanted to use up the credits before getting more and paused our account in May. Then on June 1st, Kidpass cleared out all of our credits without notice, and refused to refund our money or reinstate our credits. Acceptable conduct, esp. to a loyal customer.

Just a bunch of online activities you have to pay for

I got this looking for in person activities to get kids off the screens and into some activities in the community, there’s no in person anything just a bunch of pay to enter online activities

Poorly designed app

Aaaatandtee on

When you filter and try to book a class, it lets you get all the way to “complete booking” before it tells you’re out of the booking cutoff window. Very annoying when you’re looking for something to do with your kid in the moment. The service itself isn’t that useful to us anymore because the places nearby me no longer offer in person classes. I have to travel almost an hour away to find anything my son would use. But I spent a ton of money and amassed a lot of credits and just need to use them up before I️ cancel this. Can imagine it would be fun if you lived in the city.

Simply the best

The best kids activities app! Makes finding, booking and paying for kids activities super easy. With 3 kids, we also save a ton by booking drop-ins on KidPass.
