I love it

I like the story line. Sometimes it slows a little. What I don’t like is that the picture is so dark sometimes. Some other games have bright colors and pictures. Also, I would like to have a strategy guide if I get really stuck.

Exciting plot and challenging puzzles

This game was a lot of fun. It has a great storyline to it! The puzzles were challenging which was great. Some of the timeline of the tools you find didn’t quite make sense with the tasks required, but that was my only complaint. Really enjoyed it!

Not great

Story and graphics were good, but the game was not fluid. And it just sort of ended. You can’t go back and find things you missed.

Once again my full review was deleted and I am not writing another one. I think it was deleted because I warned so many players about purchasing it. I was offended that we were charged such a hefty price tag for such a short game. I found this game dull and overly simplistic. It was more geared towards a child! The graphics all looked the same to me, there was very little variety in the HO scenes and the puzzles/games were either extremely easy or very repetitive (fighting characters over and over again! The developer gave us the basic bells and whistles but nothing further. My true review is 2.5 stars!

Disapointed

Kingmaker - rise of a great game!

Rating: 3.5 stars bumped up to 4 stars I confess - this is the first Artifex Mundi game that I’ve purchased since they hiked the prices up. But the demo reeled me in and I was hooked. It’s a fairly straightforward game and the storyline is a bit obvious, but I thought it was still well-done and entertaining. You get standard HOS mixed with interactive ones (note that when you see “barb” on the list, it’s really a comb you are looking for!). There are morphing king coins in each scene to find. Transportable map and custom mode of play round out the options. I wasn’t able to find a strategy guide but it wasn’t really needed. Also note that if you want to get all of the dialogue, you need to be patient and not tap the screen to “continue”; just wait until the lines stop appearing. I’m used to tapping the screen to get the next line of dialogue, but it appears automatically. My one complaint is that the mini-game of tracing the lines between dots needed to defeat an opponent gets old fast, and I ended up skipping the last few. Upcoming Games: (# stars is average review on BigFishGames.com for the PC or Mac version, date is the day the game was released via Big Fish - usually for PC or Mac) Donna Brave: Paris Strangler (4.4 stars, Mad Head, Aug. ‘17) Witch’s Tales (3.8 stars, Shaman, Oct. ‘17)

The "Makers": "Doesn't Rise To The Occasion!"

This developer has created a decent production — an interesting storyline, beautiful artwork, and entertaining gameplay. It's a breath of fresh air to play from a male's perspective, which is a seldom opportunity. It's relieving to me that I am not in pursuit of and stalked by a faceless, hooded supernatural entity, with red-piercing eyes and razor-sharp fangs. Instead, this intriguing plot takes us back to the medieval ages, to a kingdom whose royal glory is in jeopardy due to acts of betrayal, conspiracy, remorse, murder, and revenge. Along this journey, you will encounter almost-all-male characters whose appearances fit the time period: steel armored knights, carrying swords and wearing helmets. The environments appropriately represent the medieval times: ambushed villages, tarnished by the disturbing sights of the dead bodies of knights, killed in battle, as they lay strewn across the grounds; high-rise fortresses, surrounding the towns, with cobble-stone streets winding around, and rivers flowing through the gate-like moats; narrow underground tunnels, leading to prison cells — hiding the skeletal remains of tortured victims — and to torture chambers containing gruesome devices. The graphics are mostly well-textured and crisp, with keen attention to the many fine details. The special effects — occasional haunting howls and falling rain — add a suspenseful edge. The gameplay delivers an even balance between HOSs and puzzles. The varied HOSs are creative and sometimes story-driven. I like the map scene in which you use a magnifying glass to zoom up on different areas on the map to find items within each area. The assorted puzzles are thematically rendered; most are too simple for my taste — a continuing trend from this developer. I'm not a fan of repetitive puzzles, but I like the recycled one in this game. The collectibles will morph, so you need to glance around the scenes for several moments to discover them. I have not encountered any glitches; gameplay is smooth. Now come the drawbacks. The entire game is offensively short, even with the bonus chapter. I like taking my time while playing, avoiding skipping puzzles — which is typically unnecessary in this publisher's games due to their simplicity — and refraining from using hints. When I finished the game, I felt like I had just started it; therefore, the length of the game does not justify the hefty price of the game. Furthermore, I remember seeing a singular "worthy-to-be-co

Very Disappointed

I was excited to play a new game from Artifex, this game was awful. Don’t waste time or money on this one. And six dollars is a crime

Too short

Dusty653 on

Normally I would give your games 5 stars but first I was disappointed that males were the hero’s, I prefer females. But the reason I gave it only 3 stars is because it cost a lot and was very short. Have noticed all your games are getting short. Used to really love cause they lasted for a while.
