Kippo Reviews

Need to improve screen ratio responsiveness

Mr. Spikes on

I like the app in general so far. Seeing matches I’m interested in right away, the cards were a quick low pressure way to get started. The app color scheme is nice, kind of vaporwave. The only problems I have stem from my screen size. I’m on iPhone SE 2022, and the app is not well suited to work on it. Text gets covered up by modals, buttons overlap, the gamertag options is unavailable to me but not to others (I assume the input for it is off screen somewhere), and there’s weird bug where using a card will disable the next card to the right of it. So I had to enter my cards from the list right to left to work around this. I recommend using this app on a larger smartphone or tablet until this is fixed.

Down for a while… Was such a good app

This app was amazing back when it was actually running, now theres not a single match being made. Its a dead ghost town. Please devs, revive Kippo

Good app but sad

MexiLeprechaun on

I honestly like this app, meet a few cool people but it’s sad the developers have given up on the app haven’t done an update on it anymore. It doesn’t show me anymore profiles at all, it shows me like maybe 5 profiles and that’s it. Wish they would do an update on it.

Somehow reverts my software version to the original.

App used to be great for meeting other nerds/geeks. Now it’s filled with terrible coding with glitches all over the place. Instead of making the nerdy dating app for people to meet, they decided “Kippoverse” and NFT homes was the bandwagon that would actually be smart. I don’t even get to use the right updated version of the software and it reverted back to the original version where Kippoverse isn’t a tab to select on the bottom, I don’t get any of the updated templates that let you express your anime interests or general other new templates, and with this terrible version where I’m stuck with the template memes originating from when the Area 51 Raid was a thing. Thats cringey to put on your profile now so why would I even be tempted to create an account if I can’t express myself. The only random thing from the new version that kept on my profile was the games I can search and add to what I am currently playing. That’s it. You only get Email Customer Service when you press “Delete Account” and it’s gives you a couple options to try and stop you, and when you click Customer Service the normal way, it brings you to their X/Twitter page that hasn’t been used since over a year ago. Mind you, they don’t respond to either Twitter or Email Customer Service. They clearly abandoned the app after failing their terrible idea of Kippoverse and after some update, it broke the app for many people. I joined this app when it first came out, it was going better and better with each update, and now somehow one new update somewhere broke many people’s account and it was during their bandwagon idea of making NFT islands. Huh wait. That sounds like most scammers who did NFT’s huh? Thanks for creating something that was good and then fumbling it for your own greed. If any of you original creators see this, fix the coding. Idc Kippoverse is a thing, I never invested, but your dating app side of it was actually great for many nerds/geeks and that part alone was worth buying the “premium” aspect to see who likes you and such. Fix it, forget that Kippoverse is a thing, and just focus on the dating/swiping part of the app.

Bad app

comFighter28 on

This app is a waste of your time. I thought it might be good for meeting new friends or potential relationships but I have been on the app for about three weeks and I get maybe 4-6 suggestions for people to meet a day (that’s on the paid subscription). Complete waste of money. I would give this a zero star if I could.

It was Decent

Key word: WAS Kippo used to be an app for just anyone who wanted to be friends or date (also fwb), creating your own cute character walking around the map and voice chatting with others. Now it’s an app where you can create your own profile BUT you have to pay to activate it? There’s no longer the cute characters anymore either and you can’t voice chat, it’s like Tinder but called it something else.

Nope

Short and sweet for ya, there’s literally no one on here. Literally

Amazing at first

Stephen Elliott on

I loved this app when it first came around but now things are breaking on the app where I had to recreate an account and then when I tried to search for my games that I do play, nothing shows, obviously this app has a virus that needs fixing and I won’t come back for months, maybe even years if the game search isn’t working properly like it used to

Horrible. Avoid it

AutumBlodhgarm on

Thing doesn’t work properly, also out of nowhere I tried to enter my account and it was gone even though I paid for the “infinity”

Abandoned

Paperwork for Covalent hasn't been renewed in years, the CEO disappeared, and the guy second-in-charge is spending money earned from the app on crypto. 90% of the user base is gone. The friends only feature is broken and they aren't fixing it. Most people you'll run into are scammers. Leaving this app on the app store is a security hazard because the longer this app doesn't receive security patches, the more likely someone will steal payment information. Go look at "Chinese Parents" if you want a solid example of this. This app used to be the best dating app out there. In my 6 years of searching, I never got as many conversations as I did on Kippo. The sad part is that I probably never will given that the dating app market is completely scummy thanks to Match Group and that Apple keeps encouraging their borderline illegal business practices. Go use Facebook Dating or go outside. I gurantee that you'll get a better experience there than this.
