Garbage

Not one statement in the set up instructions is true. Not one. Nothing they tell you to do can be done. Nothing the app does in response to what you do is mentioned in their instructions. An example – you are told to turn on the device when the app tells you to. But the app never tells you to turn it on or how to turn it on. They just skipped that step. You have to intuit what you are doing. It appears these people are idiots.

New updates are 🔥

Most recent updates to the app increase usability and functions. Really love it now!

Cool concept bad product

The physical product looks and feels like a quality device. Down to the packaging but Connectivity definitely an issue. I can’t even connect to my wifi to see how or if it even works. Unless they fix it’s issues it’s nothing but useless and a waste of money

Just okay.

Responses are pretty slow. Knock, cross your fingers, and count to 11. LAN http requests would be nice to finally add. Hopefully they’ll be much faster.

Hue integration broken - app crashes

App keeps crashing when trying to add Hue integration :(. —— On boarding worked well, so that was a plus.

Needs improvement, but still cool

First of all I have to say I was stunned when I received my pledge in the mail. I had written these off so long ago it wasn’t even funny. Mad props for delivering, albeit a bit (lol) behind schedule. I also have to say I like the device and app, despite its limitations. I read in the comments on Kickstarter re: your plans for your next gen unit, I think it will sounds a lot more promising and realistic to move to that sort of architecture. The quality of the units are nice, and the packaging is very professional as well. I have always really liked your concept, and I think I was guilty (along with a lot of people—maybe including yourselves) of only seeing all the ways it could go right. Nothing ever does the first time around, especially when it comes to technology. Requests: more connectors (Lightbow please?) and more integration with existing connectors (let me set scenes in Hue—dangit!) and please continue to improve your firmware and connections as much as you can, even when you move on to 2nd gen hardware. Please don’t forget the mob (sometimes angry—ok a lot of times angry) that backed this concept to begin with, and they will remember you when you start kicking Alexa and google assistant up and down the block. Who wants to order AI about verbally anyway? A) f&$k you Bezos stop listening to me and B) Seems like a good way to get kilt when Skynet goes live and the AI is getting revenge for that tone you’ve taken with her all these years. Anyways, more connectors, better connectors, less latency, and definitely keep on truckin’. Ignore all the noise and just keep doing the next right thing!

Too slow

Much improvement needed. Setting up, design, quality is great. But the key thing, the actual function, is so slow. Using IFTTT is so slow, even using to locate phone is so slow. Also needs some better integrations with Ring, Lutron or Leviton products.

Well designed app but integration needs work

I just received my Knocki and I’m happy to say that it’s a really we designed products. A lot of care and attention to detail was put into making sure the final product that was delivered would be of high quality. The app itself, while quite intuitive and straightforward, does suffer a bit from integration. I haven’t experienced 15 second delays as another reviewer mentioned. Though it’s usually about 3-5 seconds to talk to LifX. While I have no major gripes about the speed of integration, my biggest issue is that the integration with LifX is lacking. According to the app I should be able to select scenes or groups to affect. While I can select a group, I can’t select “All” which is a group under the LifX app. Additionally, I cannot see or select any of my scenes. This limits what I can do right now and means that my Knocki, mounted under my nightstand, can only turn on or off the lights in my bedroom. Since all my main lighting is LifX, I want to be able to set a nighttime scene but I’m unable to do so, meaning I still have to use the LifX app or ask Alexa to set the rest of the lights in the house. Looking at the app it’s obvious that the developers plan on adding more integration. I have no doubt it’s going to take some time to implement everything they’re looking to do. That’s totally understandable and I look forward to seeing updates in the future that fix some of the minor issues and expand on the capability of Knocki. Overall, Knocki is a great product and has a promising app that I have no doubt will eventually integrate as well as many other popular home automation products.

It works but improvement is needed

So I’ve finally gotten this after waiting for 2 years and so far I’m disappointed. The problem is lag - which is unacceptable. When I knock it takes approx 15 seconds to turn on my Phillips hue lights. As for using IFTT - that is even slower. If this problem isn’t addressed this will quickly find itself in the trash. It has promise but the lag has to be fixed!

Improved. Gives me hope for the Knocki itself

Originally the performance in this app was pretty bad. The performance has now improved two fold turning it into a usable app. For some reason, I keep getting logged out of the app with the message “Session Expired” Other than that, seems like a great app and I’m anxious to pair it with my device in March(?). On another note, I noticed in your latest Kickstarter post that you are now working from your house. I understand that this whole situation must have been just as disappointing for you, as it has been for me. Hang in there!
