Knot Guide Reviews

Knot guide

Very handy app to learn new knots and bends. But nice for a quick refresh of knots that you may have forgotten.

Subscription required!

go to Ed B h red f cc b on

United States

A large number of useful knots are locked behind a subscription. This is not mentioned up front. I paid for the app and then was immediately confronted with locked-out content and subscription options. Knocked a couple stars off and removed app because of this bait and switch maneuver. Hope you get some mileage off my $3 donation.

Why Subscribe?

The1LoneWolf on

United States

Why would anyone subscribe to something that doesn’t change. That’s like getting a magazine subscription for the same exact same magazine every month. Greed has destroyed several apps.

People who bought the full version lose access to a lot of content.

Pixellating on

Developer forced all old users to subscription model for content they already paid for. The fair thing would be that new users pay for a subscription. There are better apps for knots than this one. I do not recommend.

Tough to make a living in the app economy

TruOptimist on

United States

This app was a go to for me. I'm not great with tying knots, but it was very helpful since it's inception. Now, spring 2024 I cannot open a single knot without them pitching me for a monthly or a yearly subscription. SaaS is a complete racket. I already paid for this. I won't be using this app again.

Paid version of a free app

Mattzab on

United States

Everything in this app is identical to the free version. Scam.

New Monthly paywall after originally paying for app

batnotinc on

United States

Unacceptable. I took the plunge and bought the full app a while back and now they’ve started locking “content” behind a monthly paywall. Absolute joke of a move, blatent greed. Don’t bother with this app.

To pay or not to pay

Veryfrustratedstr on

United States

Both versions of the app- free and $2.99 are incomplete. Even if you pay for the app, you still have to subscribe for full access. I’m so sick of subscriptions. Just make the app paid and be done with it. Aside from this HUGE annoyance, because I paid for the app and don’t want to subscribe for knots… the app is good. Simple and easy to understand. Good on-hand reference. Definitely not something I would pay $3 a month for though.

Strange pricing model

Pablopilot on

United States

What’s the sense of subscribing to something that doesn’t update or change much or often? Other than providing a steady income stream to the developer, a one-time fixed price would make much more sense. It’s more a book than a magazine…

Yearly Subscription after purchasing app? Knot for me!

DVDCoyote on

United States

Purchased the app for $2.99 and then find out many of the knots require a yearly subscription! Knot gonna happen!
