"Who Stole the Moon?" is an interactive musical picture book application. The fairy tale "Who Stole the Moon?" was written by British writer Helen Stratton-Would and illustrated by internationally-acclaimed Russian artist Vlad Gerasimov. It's a story about little Bertie, who dreamed about becoming an astronaut. He loved to watch the moon shining through his skylight window every night as he lay in bed. One evening, though, the moon didn't appear in the sky.

"Who Stole the Moon?" With this serious question, "detective" Bertie set out on his adventure. Help solve the mystery! Meet some amazing animal friends. Play games with them and sing together. Join Bertie on his quest with this charming bedtime story that will gently nurture your child's imagination and send him off into the magical world of dreams.

Full version includes:
~ Complete story with fully interactive vivid illustrations.
~ 4 educational games.
~ 8 original songs, plus karaoke.

The songs performed by award-winning American children's singer Susie Tallman and Australian musician Richard Pleasance.

The story is narrated by professional actors in 17 languages.

4 year old daughter loved it

FryingBullet on

My 4 year old daughter loves this book and has asked for it regularly for several months - a firm favourite.

Undecided

Personally I found the narrators voice to be a little dull and annoying but my son didn't seem to mind. There's not a huge amount of interactivity and my three year old was not interested in the songs at all. Overall I would say it is a good app but if you have a child who isn't easily entertained, they may not stay interested. The art work is well done and the story itself is pretty well written. Where there are interactive sections, it's been done well, there are just a few bits where all you get is a little bit of sparkle.

Can easily become a classic

I bought this app for two reasons, one I'm a big fan of Vlad Gerasimov and his illustrations (his snow leopard is my iPad's lock screen wallpaper) and two because I do have a toddler who loves interactive books on the iPad. This app is amazing value for money. The story is long, the pages are alive, there are 8 original songs. My toddler wants to click absolutely everything on each page... 'No daddy, not yet!' and he turns the page back. The games are very good and he loves playing the jigsaw, although at 2.5 years of age he requires some help - the game is rated 4+ so no complaints here. My only criticisms would be that the app needs British English as a language option and a slightly more theatrical narration, I found it very blunt. Having said that, this application represents much better value for money than anything similar in the app store. Plus, the illustration is second to none. Vlad at his best! 5 stars!
