Drops Reviews

This is one of the best apps I have seen

bananas321go on

It taught me lots of words easily and it makes Korean easy and fun to to learn with others

Correct or incorrect answers in the quiz section

Jotsun on

United Kingdom

Please check your quiz answers. Some answers are incorrect or are often not recorded correctly. Eg. Things made of metal. Money was marked as incorrect, are coins not manufactured from metals! Things that cool down….radiators was seen as an incorrect answer. On occasions you are setting up your pupils to fail, not because of their lack of learnt language knowledge but because of the logic behind some of the answers deemed to be correct or incorrect

ploy for money and waste of time

downloaded the app with no intention of paying the premium, but to see what the app had to offer to brush up my french knowledge. i am not joking when i say i had to learn the word ‘bonjour’ 50+ times although stating i already have french knowledge. then a 5 minute timer ran out causing me to not be able to learn any more. this is incredibly frustrating. why should you have to pay to be able to do any kind of learning on the app. completely disappointing experience and won’t be using again.

Learning really quick! 🤩

I am currently learning arabic because sooon we are moving abroad to Dubai. And in 5min I memeorized all the arabic colours. So I would totally recommend drops to learn foreign languages.

Excellent

Very good app, great for beginners. I am learning Italian at the moment and even the words that I learnt at the end of last year are at the back of my mind. This app helps with remembering new words and pronunciation 👍👍👍

Changes not needed

I have been an avid and premium user of drops for a few years, and it is really great, and has become by far my favourite app for language learning, but it suddenly feels like it’s going in the wrong direction which other apps like memrise did. Why is the new energy bar needed? And why can you suddenly make 0 mistakes before it tells you you’re incorrect- you could make 3 before it would move on to the next word prior to these changes. I have such a long streak on drops and really enjoy but will have to cancel it if these changes continue. If you could turn these features off, (if they can’t be removed) that would be much better.

Great

Fun and simple, so it’s easy to learn

Ruined by adding energy bar

~redfox~ on

I've been using Drops for almost two years. Two things put me off buying premium: 1. The developers keep fiddling with it. For example, the five minute session was dropped down to three minutes a while ago. Although this was increased when people complained, it's a huge risk to spend that much on premium when the app might be arbitrarily changed overnight. 2. I don't want to learn ten languages. A lower price point for one or two languages would make more sense. But the final straw for me is the introduction of an 'energy bar', which gets reduced when you make a mistake (even if that mistake is just a misclick). When it's empty, you get booted out of the session. I ditched Duolingo for Drops precisely because of this nonsense, and now Drops have started it, too. You learn by making mistakes, and a language learning app that punishes you for making mistakes is ridiculous. Goodbye, Drops, it was a fun run.

New vocabulary

I am very pleased with drops I have studied Spanish for years and had private and basic German classes but I am learning vocabulary that I have not learned before and a German lady where I live is very impressed with vocabulary that I can use now come

Simple fun and engaging

SøsterSo on

I love the simple concept of the app. It’s kept me accountable and engaged more than any other app. If the subscription was a bit cheaper I’d go premium as I can see myself using this a long time. The 5min practice on the free one is really way too short 😞
