Laqueus Escape Reviews

This is great

Fabulous

Really great Point-and-click game with clues that are hard enough to keep me interested. Reminds me of my favourite game series Forever lost. Paid to remove ads and would gladly pay again for more chapters. Unusually well-made 3D graphics that let you explore items from all angles. No problems restarting the game on my iPad. More please 🙂

Why restart?

So, back to the beginning when starting the game again? Really annoying. Deleted.

Engrossing but frustrating

I would have added this to my first review, but the app won’t bring me back to it. I wasn’t impressed with the first chapter, and my opinion of the graphics and animation hasn’t really changed throughout the next three chapters. Also my frustration with in-game text being too small and nearly impossible to read without zooming in on screenshots continues (though that didn’t help trying to read what’s at the bottom of the yellow stripes in Chapter 3). I’m annoyed having to refer to walkthroughs occasionally too, because the hints aren’t very helpful. But as I progressed through chapters, the game became more complex and more engrossing, and now I’m more familiar with the mechanics, so I stuck with it. However, something just happened while I was playing Level 4 that ended my time with this game, unfortunately. I had to refer to a walkthrough again to find out there’s a wheel missing from my screen. The only way to try to resolve this is to reset. Although I did reset just this level, and I was placed back inside the elevator, all of my previous progress was saved, including the omission of that wheel. Apparently the only other option it provides is to reset and go back to redo a previous level as well, which I won’t do! And tapping on App Support here goes nowhere.

Great puzzles

Difficult but fun puzzles. Most mini-games / puzzles are ready to play when you find them. Occasionally there is a missing piece.

This isn’t right.

Who are you? “Smart code?” That’s too, generated. What are you planning? This isn’t real.

Too bad

I want to like this game but the 360 motion made me nauseous. It was taking away from the enjoyment of playing a great escape game. I had to stop playing it and delete.

Bad game design bad puzzles.

The worst escape game i have ever played and I’ve played too many too count so…pretty bad. Graphics and audio are decent but thats the only thing going for it. The devs apparently love giving math problems that could be interpreted in numerous ways but don’t give any context for how to properly interpret the problem without hints. The hints they give are often condescending and mostly useless. They also love giving you hints for problems you’ve already solved. The camera angles are terrible and the game gets super nit picky about the angle you have to look in order to move to another area. Too many moments where you obviously made a change and hear a noise signifying something has moved but it doesn’t give you any idea of where that change occurred. Information overload can sometimes be good but this game loves to give info overload in the form of showing multiple separate puzzle’s clues all at once…all the time, making it difficult to understand what clues are for which puzzle. The game tries selling you with the graphics and animations but falls severely short on what makes an escape game an escape game. Extremely poor execution of game design and understanding of the genre. If i could give negative stars, I would. So I’ll just say it. -2/5 stars.

Update please loll
