LAX FlyAway Reviews

Overload issues

Harryyesha on

United States

Buses are not on time. We've been waiting at the pickup point for an hour, and customer support failed to help us. They simply explained it as an overloaded issue causing bus delays.

Used their app to buy tickets and been charged twice and no tickets ever appeared in my “wallet” ,it’s absolutely a scam service

Don’t flyaway too far from functionality

LA Resident Rider on

United States

The app is very, very hit or miss when you want to work it glitches up and shows error codes. Customer service offer some relief, but the functionality of the app in itself needs a serious upgrade. Sometimes you’re better off paying with credit card Directly.

Extremely unreliable

Troydp5 on

United States

Having tried this service 3 times now it just can’t be relied on. Bus driver got in a fight with some lady at my terminal so he stopped loading the bus up and left when there where MANY open seats. So I then spent the next hour and a half waiting bus after bus, just flying past me after I had bought an unrefundable ticket that will expire before I fly again. Waste of time and money, can’t believe there isn’t a solution for bus travel from an airport as big as LAX.

Rude drivers, bad customer service

brent28292 on

United States

Employees don’t know basic info about the service. Driver left some people behind with seats available. Bus was dirty and power outlets didn’t work. Do yourself a favor and take an uber or Lyft instead of this nasty bus. Never again

What’s the point?

TheCinephiliac on

United States

I downloaded the app hoping to catch the bus and get information about where it was. The app sent me to a web page to access the live tracker, which made me wonder why I needed to download the app. The live tracker updated the “real time” location of the bus only for the bus to show up 18 mins early, a time not reflected on the live tracker. This worked out for me since I was waiting already but what was the point of the app? Then I was informed that I could just tap my debit card on the bus for a ticket. So what was the point of downloading this poorly designed barely functioning app?

Too few buses

JonoKino on

United States

We were waiting for 45 min for a Flyaway to Union Station, only to be turned away because it was full. They need to run more buses!

Fraudulent App

JakeLiggett on

United States

Bus driver rudely told me his card reader was busted and that I had to pay with app. I tried to pay with the app only for it to claim the payment was denied and then charge me anyway. Ended up paying in cash, so I was charged twice for already overpriced airport shuttle that was late

FlyAway App Mistakes? Prepare to Pay Twice

valliepinkie on

United States

Here’s a concise review for you: The FlyAway app could use some serious improvements. If you make a mistake while purchasing a ticket, it charges you without any way to fix the error, forcing you to buy a new ticket. To make things worse, there’s no staff available at the bus station to help when problems arise. Instead, other passengers in line are the ones stepping in to assist. With higher prices, you’d expect better service, but it feels like they’ve cut corners in all the wrong places.

Super useful and convenient

cli90 on

United States

Love the app and ability to buy tickets online and prior to trips. I will say, it is not super intuitive and this can cause some anxiety especially for travelers (and older travelers who struggle with digital and technology things) but once you figure it out, write out instructions and save them like me for future use. Super convenient and useful once you get the hang of it!
