I'm honestly blown away by this app. The way it organizes words with their example sentences and related grammar lessons is a game changer. The fact that it shows you the HSK level of EVERY word and EVERY exame sentence is so helpful, because it lets me focus my self-learning on the correct level for me. There's also so many different activities included to help cement the knowledge. I'm almost done with HSK1 3.0 after just a couple weeks!
Sometime it dosent tally my correct answers and Its really helpful when it does because i can keep track of how many words im learning. This is one of the most helpful features, tallying after every 5 correct words. This feature does not seem to be available for iPhone users at all. Only my Android devices do the tally after the 5th correct word. Is there a way to make this feature available for iPhone users too? As I said, this feature dosent work at all on apple and it can be ”iffy” on Android. Can this be fixed? It really is a necessity to keep track of your word count. I thoroughly enjoy your app. In fact, I use them every day. John Kelley
This is a very user-friendly app that runs natively on both iPad and iPhone, making it both more pleasant to use and more accessible for people with visual impairment than iPhone-only apps. There are a variety of activities to learn the words, so it’s not repetitive and boring like purely flash card apps. I love the way the developers included details like color coding for the tones to help remember them with the word. Both mainland and traditional Chinese are available as well as one of my favorite features - a simplified vs. traditional character comparison game - great for folks who want to learn both like I do. The pro version is expensive but I waited for a push notification with a discount and am really enjoying the extra features. I still wish I didn’t have to pay for all the HSK levels separately though. The free version has a lot of functionality for those who don’t want to pay. Highly recommend for those who want to practice HSK vocab in a way that’s more fun and less tedious than other methods. There’s so many different things to do here to keep you motivated and seeing the words in these different contexts really helps with memory.
This is a great course. It consists of HSK 1-5. Each separate. There’s many sentences, and especially useful is grammar section. The writing section is also very good. I highly recommend the PRO version for all 5 apps, as the PRO version contains the most material, though the non-pro version has a great deal of valuable things. I must add that the email support is fantastic.
I really enjoy the app especially since it accompanies my current class well and serves as an extra tool outside of school. But I find it inconvenient that I can’t save my saved words list on multiple devices that way I can study either on my phone or on my iPad. Is there a way to do this or not?
There’s alot on this app, and it’s a good thing. The enormous varieties of games/quiz formats mean I can test and learn characters in many different contexts, which helps me learn them a lot better. (Though I use Duolingo a lot to supplement, it’s very easy to fall into pattern recognition with their lessons and not learn the material as solidly.) Free content is sufficient, but I happily paid the one time $18 (thank you for not making it subscription!!), well worth it for the dozens of study materials/lessons, quizzes/games, well structured dictionary, and easy to use and appealing design. Incredibly thorough educational material that’s well written and tested. Look forward to graduating to HSK2 next so I can opt for the next app!
This app is great for learning Chinese. It has many features that let you learn vocabulary, sentences, grammar, and characters. And the pay version is a one-time purchase and not subscription which is great. That said, they just updated the game and changed their character writing feature to make it more “user friendly”. It is clear that they got someone with terrible handwriting to write the hanzi and now they are forcing learners who want to use this feature to adopt this same terrible handwriting. The proportions are all wrong, there are incorrect strokes (left leaning that should be right, right leaning that should be left, that sort of thing). And to top it all off, there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off the visible strokes so you can practice from memory - a feature the old version had. I really like this app series as a whole, but this update was awful. Please fix this feature!
This app is honestly underrated. I heard about it from a youtuber that i watch when studying myself. i looked it up and honestly fell in love. most of the features are available for free with some exceptions for the lessons and other items. it genuinely is worth it and if you can afford the pro version please go for it. it genuinely is one of the most helpful apps i’ve used and it’s so nice because the pronunciations don’t appear to be done by an AI. it sounds like a genuine person speaking which is awesome because no one wants to sound like a robot. i’d say my main issue is that there’s no like real progress done with the lessons. you can basically just go through whichever lesson you want and in any order and i find that it makes it hard to really follow anything. especially since once you start getting to the game section of the app, it will just show you random vocab with no real progression or unlocking new words or anything like that. i find it overwhelming so in terms of actually learning the characters i would recommend a different source and then heading towards the game section. other than that this app is 10/10!
I’m in love with this app it’s free and it helped me a lot during my preparation for hsk exam, I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to learn Chinese in a professional and easy way, all my friends and I have this miracle app in our phone it’s a life saver 🙌🏻😍
