Don’t you hate when companies claim to make learning fun?
There really is nothing "fun" about learning languages.
There’s definitely satisfaction in impressing friends, passing exams, and using your language skills in the real world but the fun comes in the time you save by finding the right learning method.
Dr. Moku strives to make learning languages painless and effective so you have more time to create your own fun.
Studying sucks. Memorization stinks. Mnemonics work.
The first Dr. Moku app was published way back in 2010, it was primitive and clunky but it helped tens of thousands of people to learn Hiragana and Katakana without the pain of rote memorization.
This new app is the start of a whole new chapter. The vision is to gradually add new languages and subjects using the same mnemonic techniques.
Download it now and start learning in seconds.

Used to be good

Think it’s a little ridiculous you need to have an internet connection to use this app it. It used to be so simple now it takes forever for a simple flash card to load.

Awesome App

Great, loved it, plan on using it all year around to learn Arabic, Korean, and Japanese. If he comes out with new languages i’ll learn those too. Helped me remember quickly, and it was fun to learn about the characters. Great memory helpers!

I love this app, its content, and the excellent customer support. When I had a question and reached out, the developer was very responsive. I appreciate the excellent content and customer support!

Disappointing

Leah R on

Purchased the $19 version that included Japanese, Korean and Arabic. In reality I only needed Japanese so I should have just purchased the $7.99 option, but even for that price the limited content was not worth it. It was recommended by a trusted author, but if had the option to try before buying I would not have purchased this.

Great visual aides/reminders

Excellent for visual and kinesthetic learners. Easy enough for a child to use but sooooo hopeful for an adult. Bought this to learn basic/beginner Japanese.

No

This is a program i wouldn’t recommend i would rather use duolingo or hey japan this app is all about making their own money because they basically talk about the language and show you one or three characters of the languages alphabet then you have to buy the bundles in order to learn more.

I just started and like all the learning tools this app has, but I’d love to use it in airplane mode. Please add offline download options.

Lovely App!

User-friendly interface and very pleasing to the eyes. Exercising both the right and left brains simultaneously, based on current research, is one of the most, if not the best, efficient way of solidifying new information into long-term memory. This includes learning a new language. This is the approach of the app through the use of exaggerated and novel visual and auditory mnemonics. I think the only biggest problem in this approach is if the learner cannot relate to or cannot warm up to the visual and phonetic aids chosen by the developer, then it’s gonna feel like a chore and there won’t be an incentive to memorize since it doesn’t “tickle their brain” enough to excite it into learning. If that’s the case, then the learner will have to come up with their own mnemonics that work for them, but the question there will be if they’d be bothered to go out of their way to do so. Anyway, I love the app. Thank you!
