The Lectio Divina Journal provides a contemplative prayer practice for the everyday human experience. The long and lived history of Lectio Divina offers four movements (lectio - reading of, meditatio - reflecting on, oratio - responding to, contemplatio - resting in) inviting the participant(s) from simply attaining information about God toward communion and union with God that is formational and transformative. The journal provides a daily (Monday - Friday) Lectio Divina invitation, a Saturday Examen Prayer practice, and a Sunday Journaling option.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the app over the last week but, a couple days ago, upon opening the app, I was presented with the sign in screen. The app will not accept my password and when I click “forgot password” and request a reset link, there is an “unknown error” message that appears. I have tried multiple times over the last few days. I also tried to click on the “app support” link from the App Store but that link did not work either…any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cannot edit bible passage?
I want to love this app. But I am getting ready to do an Ingnatian Retreat where they give us specific bible passage to reflect on using Lectio Divina. I’ve tried to edit the provided passage to accommodate the passages I need to reflect on but that seems to be the only thing that cannot be changed in the journal entry. I am able to look up another passage to read, but it will not document that new passage in the app, it goes right back to the default passage for that day. I completely value the passages that are auto populated for those who need help knowing what to reflect on to keep up with a daily routine, however, I will have to resort to using a simple journaling app so I can insert and document my own passages until this app allows the opportunity to edit the provided passage. I hope you are able to make this happen, because there is great value in this app... except for having to be tied to specific passages each day 😉
Love the app!
I’m so glad this is free now. Thank you for making it available for free. I love this version because it connects right with the passage. The printed journal does not have the Bible verses in it so you need your Bible plus the journal. This is really great and easy to take with you wherever you go!
Exactly what I was looking for
Love that I don’t have to carry a journal around. Everything I need is in the app.
Yasss!
I've been using the hardcopy version of lectio for a few years and wasn't sure how a digital version of this would be but man, it's been a great alternative when I'm on the go. It's sleek, convenient, and allows me to start my days in a great reflective space. And I love how this app saves my reflections so I can pull them back up whenever I want to review them. Such a blessing!
A few bugs
I love how this app is helping me and so many study and spend time in Gods word. I only gave this 3 stars to get developers attention to fix small bug. The timer to spend time at the beginning and end does not work. It seems to pause if the phone goes on suspend or alert comes in. I’ve tested it. I would imagine this would be easy to fix. Keep up the great work and God bless.
App promising but couldn't register
I think this app could be great, but it's there no way to register as a new user or as a guest on the app? Didn't see it.
Unexpected Cost
This looks like an excellent app for guiding the practice of lectio divina. I wish, however, that you had been up front about there being a $10/month fee. I’m currently in seminary, living on a pastor’s salary, and have a family of four. I understand your need to cover your costs, but I cannot take on any new costs at this time. $10 isn't asking much, but it is more than I can currently shoulder.
Update: thank you for your response and the added information. $1.99/month is much easier on our tight budget.
Change of 2 stars to 4!
My frustrations with this app were answered by the developer within 24 hours. The directions were clear and easy to complete. I am impressed enough to change my rating!
