LeftTimes is a high-quality aggregator of articles, podcasts and videos, bringing together content that is balanced across issues areas and represents a breadth of perspectives. We feature a limited number of publications so as to force ourselves to only pick those consistently producing informative, in-depth, thoughtful, compelling, and moral content.

Contents spans from news, politics and policy to culture, art and identity - balanced across the US and global perspectives - and covering everything the economy, international relations, the environment, and social justice. All content is curated from a select set of progressive publications including magazines, think tanks, investigative journalists, blogs, research institutes and more.

Our goal is to make it easy for readers to discover and follow some of the most interesting and thoughtful writers and reporters across the left. We want to make it easy for people to discover, follow and read the best content being produced by the most interesting and thoughtful writers and reporters across the left.

Philosophically, LeftTimes is metamodern, seeing Green Social Liberalism as the socioeconomic system upon which the next (r)evolutions of society must be built. The distribution of publications reflect this ideological perspective – being predominantly progressive, social democratic, and democratic socialist – with a smattering of liberal, communist, anarchist, and libertarian perspectives.

We have only just begun to build out our news feed and there are many more sources and authors we have yet to add or even discover. We would love your help!

thank you devs for creating this wonderful app. it’s got all my favorite sources in one convenient place. this app is part of my morning ritual and find it hard to imagine life without it now

Best of its kind

I am grateful for this app and hope the developers continue to improve it. The app aggregates left leaning news stories from numerous sites which I would not have the time or patience to track down. I have found many of these stories are the illuminating. What I have not seen, so far, are the positive news stories of the good things human beings are doing on this planet to create a better world. So much of the news cycle for most news organizations is negative. Can we also celebrate the the positive work many of us are contributing to our communities and the world?

For someone disappointed by the options of left voices available in the standard News App, finding this app was a gift.

Both sides left and right very seldom talk about what and who really runs the world 🌎 💰💰💰💰💰and the 💵💴💶💳people 🤑

Good Aggregator

This app is a good aggregator of news from the left. I like how you can choose the categories you’d like highlighted on the front page. My only complaint is that too large a proportion of articles come from The Intercept. I’d like more sources to be included.

Thoughtful alternative perspective

Extended, informative perspective on current events. I went looking for this when the term anti fascist seemed to be demonized in outlets like CNN. Shouldn’t everyone be anti fascist after the horrors of World War II?

Excellent Sources

The information in this app is remarkably factual, which is rather refreshing compared to Mainstream News Media.

Useful news app

This is going to sound like one of those paid reviews you see on Amazon, but there is really not much more to say than this app is very helpful, provides a good cross section of articles and essays from sources I typically read, and I try and look at it every day. Each time I use it I am glad I did.

Stopped working

The app no longer loads any news. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it but no luck. It was great when it was working, but is now DOA.
