This app is truly a gift! The colour science, lens simulations, and UI are an absolute joy to use.
The standout feature is how it eliminates the iPhone’s overly sharp, artificial look. My favourite colour profile is Leica Chrome—it delivers such a stunning aesthetic.
Here’s my editing process for the best results:
1. Shoot in ‘P’ mode with the Leica Chrome colour profile, using the 24mm or 120mm lenses. This ensures you get the highest resolution and the most natural-looking image.
2. Add background blur and grain afterwards in Lightroom Mobile. The new AI blur feature makes it incredibly easy to create a realistic background blur while preserving top-notch resolution.
While the Leica app offers background blur in ‘A’ mode, the image quality suffers, and the blur itself isn’t applied as seamlessly.
Finally, an app that delivers stunning colour science while removing the artificial sharpening! I’ve used other apps like Halide before, but Leica’s colour science is hard to beat.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable. Just buy it . I’m a professional photojournalist, who has shot traditional Leica camera’s for 30+ years. It’s my additional camera, when I don’t have M11’s with me.
Ripping people off
This is basically the Fjorden app reskinned and sold at a laughably expensive subscription . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE.
Photos NOT being saved
I’ve missed SO many moments due to this app NOT saving photos. The photos appear below, as if they’re in the camera roll, but when I open Photos, the photos i took are nowhere in sight. Terrible app. I expected better from Leica. My device is an iPhone 14 Pro Max
Format and lenses are still not kept between app switch
Format and lenses selections are still being reset.
As well as the exposure setting.
Good but expensive and crashes on iPhone
One time buy option would be good. App crashes on iphone while loading, intermittent issue, pls fix that with extensive testing.
Awful
Why ruin the incredible Leica name with this very average app…? If I were Leica, I’d pull this app right away. The price they are charging is actually laughable.
Leica lux
A very good app but $100 each year is a ridiculous proposition. I may be tempted to buy it if there was a much more reasonably priced lifetime licence instead. I won’t be renewing after the trial period. If it wasn’t for the price I would rate it much higher.
Very good
I really like the app and its feature but would be better if it comes with an option for one-time purchase (permanently).
Potential
The app repeatedly freezes. Once the bugs are ironed out it will be great to use.
