Multiplayer feature allows you to play countdown against your friends and prove your intellectual superiority.
you can also search for random players in multiplayer mode to compete against whilst proving your superior intellect. Make new friends with other word and maths lovers.
This game combines four games and is based on the TV game show countdown. The word games are based on arranging vowels and consonants to make the longest words.
Letters Game find the longest word from a selection of 9 letters - you choose the mix of vowels and consonants. Discover the longest word while trying to beat the clock.
Numbers Game In the arithmetic puzzle section players try to get as close to a 3 digit target as possible with a mathematical calculation based on your selection of a mix of large and small numbers. Use plus, minus, multiply, divide and brackets ,use bodmas, bomdas or pemdas to get to the goal. Improve your algebra and speed of mental math calculations.
Conundrum Game This game is a conundrum and players must unscramble the word and solve the conundrum. The answer is found in the scrambled mix of letters. This is a word find or word search puzzle. With each level it gets harder to solve the conundrum.
Anagram Game The quiz round is an 8 letter anagram with a clue. Try to solve the quiz and search for the answer. Unjumble the letters provided before the clock counts down. Mentally challenging this game also improves your word knowledge and vocabulary.
All games have a time limit of 30 seconds like the TV show, when playing against your device. There is also a free play - practice mode without the countdown clock. if you prefer not to try and beat the clock or your brain speed is not what it used to be. Free play has a choice of time limits, slowing the speed of this app down for more relaxed enjoyment.
A combo game tests your skills, mental agility in all four games. This mode is excellent for starting out whilst you improve your word making, discovering and algebra skills.
Multi-levels are available. If you consistently beat your device, you will move to the next Level. There are 5 levels for the Letters game, Numbers puzzle and Conundrum game, 1 for the quiz or anagram puzzle.
Compete in daily challenge contests against players from around the world. The same vowels and consonants mix is chosen for all to compete in daily contests. Who can discover the longest word or the best calculation. Test and improve your word knowledge, vocabulary and mathematical, bomdas, bodmas or pemdas skills whilst trying to beat the clock. Another multiplayer feature is the ability to post games for others to enjoy. Use shared games to compete against other letters and numbers players.
Leaderboards show your daily challenge and other contest results.
This is great for the older ages for keeping the brain active with intellectual activity or the younger ages for training the brain to work fast. Or simply just to relax after a hard day.
This app can be what you want it to be. Numbers – mathematics and algebra, if that is what you like but it is fun to try the combo game which is multi-skilled. You can test your mental abilities with words and maths against other players or just enjoy by yourself as the clock counts down. This intellectual app can improve mental ability and word knowledge and is fun. It is also great to see your word and maths game results improve.

Really fun app where you don’t have to sit through annoying ads! Great to keep the mind active and have a bit of healthy competition with multiplayer option! Very responsive to feedback and quick to fix problems. Highly recommended.

Some bugs

Cindy Van Dongen on

I’ve noticed playing the 15 and 30 second daily challenges that the numbers will often have the same ending, eg, 247, 347 or 856, 656. Also, I’m completely stuck on Conundrum Level 1 even though I’ve achieved the necessary points and percentages many many times over. Plus, I only get words starting with A. Reset everything. Updated the app. No changes.

Best app ever

After being a fan of TV shows(Countdown) and (Letters and Numbers) this app is just like playing yourself. I’ve been playing this game for years now and the improvements the developer has made this game even better. Can’t stop playing this game.

Greatly improved but still needs work

Love that this checks words in the OED. There is potential to offer choice of dictionary eg. Merriam Webster for the US, Macquarie fir Australia (even though I’d still choose the OED - please make this setting optional. Room for improvement to Layout: 1. move the play buttons to the bottom of the screen underneath where the letters come up so we don’t have such a big movement to choose new letters. 2. get rid of the unnecessary text (add a ‘help’ icon to navigate to instructions. 3. clean up the table space graphics so it is friendlier to vision impaired people ie get rid of background image, just stick your logo at the top of the screen if it looks too bare, mostly though you need visual definition which is using contrasting colours for the active part of a window. 4. not sure how to improve it but the numbers puzzle feels really clunky, perhaps have an ‘add brackets’ button which puts brackets around both ends of what has been typed. I probably won’t bother with the numbers part until it’s improved. It’s too clumsy to operate compared to when watching on the show. Good luck. Keep it up.

Progression

Topgeelongfan on

I have no problem with the game getting harder, however, it is too fast a progression. It’s not fair to fail to understand legitimate words in a dictionary, yet play others that aren’t. It also seems that every time the letters are difficult the most obscure of words appears. This wouldn’t happen on the show. On the numbers side, don’t progress too far. Once you do the combination of numbers needs brackets and knowledge of obscure tables that only geniuses know. At least on the show they explain away how this could be a method of thinking. None given here. No chance to learn. I also hate the way you can’t go back when a decimal or fraction is part of the calculation. If I were on the show I could always keep part of a calculation. Very irritating. Yes, get rid of the ads by paying.

Numbers not randomly generated.

The number games follow patterns rather than being randomly generated. Still challenging but could be better.

Great Entertainment
