LG Soundbar

When trying to connect the app to an LG SC9S soundbar, the location permission is actually required. It states that it needs it for wifi information but I cannot imagine why just connecting to local network is not sufficient. As a result, this app is useless without giving them both local network access and location information, which I presume the app will then upload to LG’s servers. This app should be pulled from the App Store for misleading description.

Trying to previously working ARC with LG TV. Now it sadly defaults to HDMI and I have to manually change it via LG remote. Can’t do software update. It even has RJ45 network cable but no way to access menu to force software updates

I literally can’t connect my speaker to the app. I’m connected via Bluetooth but when trying to setup the app, it gets stuck saying I have to connect to Bluetooth first. I’ve already paired the Bluetooth! Trash

Worked fine for me. Just wish it had a few more options and easier to find speakers.

I have the issue of the soundbar dropping the sound down and having to re adjust the sound. The app does not connect to my LG soundbar. It can’t find it even on the Bluetooth setting on the soundbar. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix these issues?

Lots of negative reviews here, I can’t say they’re all wrong. However, the app is working great for me! I either knew what I was doing or just accidentally nailed the sound system setup, awesome kit! Using Model - SPD7R(5F)

The app and speakers work fine. I only wish I had more control over all sound aspects. I am limited by what the app has to offer but would be great if I could control how much pan I want on L/R sound.

Why does this need my location just to adjust subwoofer levels? Useless

This app forces you to the ThinQ app, which doesn’t let you specify WPA2 security. It won’t connect to WiFi router unless I lower security setting to WPA. My LG G4 OLED wont register with the S95TR soundbar since latest update. This makes it impossible to use the built in wireless WOWCast feature. I’m regretting buying the S95TR. Note: I was able to set the WiFi password and security by using my iPhone WiFi settings after putting the soundbar into WiFi setup mode by pressing the soundbar WiFi. Button until it blinked three white leds. Then I used the iPhone to enter the password. The ThinQ app needs fixing to allow this or the instructions should explain the alternate method which I actually found in an internet search.
