New update has ruined the app
Since the recent update the app is laggy and slow. I use it everyday for my business and it is now significantly slowing down this portion of my work. Very disappointing
Charged me even after cancelling
The app doesn’t even work properly. I paid for a subscription that doesn’t even provide me with the service I paid for. It’s so useless, and it lags out. Took money from the card that I didn’t even approve. And before the payment I even cancelled the trial and still charged me for no reason. The worse app I’ve used.
Latest update has caused some big issues!
I have always loved this app. It’s incredibly powerful and I’ve always used it as part of my photography editing workflow, however… I’ve just updated it and it has caused some serious issues! Firstly, the whole app just feels slower & more laggy. It takes longer to upload photos to the app and A LOT longer to render and save images. Previously a render & save for a large dimension 100% quality jpeg would take less than 10 seconds and that’s with numerous masks added and adjustments made across the board. Now it takes just over 5 minutes to do the same! I tried it a few times and the same thing every time! 5 minutes for a single photo is crazy, especially when it used to be lovely & quick. Secondly, the new blur feature just crashes the app. As soon as I touch the blur function the whole up freezes and I have no option to force close the app & reopen. This isn’t a huge issue for me as I probably won’t use it much but still needs to be resolved. Lastly, I’m not a fan of the new layout, but that’s my personal opinion and probably something I’ll get used to. I hope these issues are fixed quickly, especially the speed issue, because that could be a deal breaker for me and I’ll have no choice but to use another app.
Looking forward to be playing around again
A lot my photography or graphic design work done on photoshop but I’m going down the film simulation rabbit hole, Normally used to the grit and grain of black and white, can’t express how much love I have for adobes software, being able to receive the level of quality with the now updated system with the ai updates, I’m looking forward to switching out and really delving into the world of presets..
Generative AI fails again!
I downloaded Lightroom to try out the new, much-hyped “Generative Remove” feature. I tried it on a photo of my daughter, attempting to remove our dog who had photobombed the shot. The first attempt replaced him with an ornate wooden box. (What?) The second attempt replaced him with a different dog (and a typical generative AI dog: half a head and five legs). On the third attempt I got a reasonably result. The UX for this feature is also nothing like the promo video. When you colour in the area you want to fix, the promo video shows the fix happening instantly, like magic. The reality is that a dialog saying “Connecting to cloud” appears for several seconds (even on fast WiFi), then the fix appears.
Free trial is a lie
Took this app as wanted to edit some photos. There was an off that said 7 day free trial on the annual subscription (not on the monthly). The app didn’t do what I wanted - fair enough, that’s the point of a free trial, right? - so went to cancel the subscription before the charging period started only to find they’d charged me immediately and there was no 7 day free trial. Contacted Lightroom who told me it wasn’t their problem and I’d have to speak with Apple. Definitely will not use another of their products again.
Very Slow and Laggy
Been months now of horrible performance. Adobe have broken this app with an update and obviously unable to resolve it. Giving them feedback makes no difference. After years of happy custom, I will be looking for alternative software offerings
A non stop let down of expense and poor support.
Impossible to get actual support, though you can spend £1000 a year with adobe, you will have to visit a forum where they offload support to other users. Ancient u fixed bugs that never get addressed. Want to import form your camera to apple photos over WiFi then import to Lightroom mobile. Noel, everything is seen as a duplicate. On top of it all, they’re now looking to replace photographers with ai services. Company apps, awful. Company support, nonexistent. Company care factor, what’s that? I’ve spent so much money with this company in 20 years and it really is time to move on. Awful company. Awful app. Overpriced.
