LINQ Connect Reviews

Payment issues

C.Lee Mac on

United States

So they have a default payment option, and then they give you the option to add others cards. Except no other payment options work. Only the default card. Which is kind of silly. Why be able to download other card options you can’t even use? You can’t even delete the default card you have edit it. Just seems backwards to me. The support line wasn’t any help either. They just speak to you like a robot.

Awful

Roxee22 on

United States

This app is so not user-friendly. It’s hard to get into the app because you cannot save any of your information and it brings you right to the website. The app is very clunky and feels very outdated. I wish we didn’t switch to this application and went back to the other app that our school used.

I guess my kids will starve

Impossible to log in. I see my name flash on the screen for one second and then it disappears and never lets me in.

Not Intuitive

LauraNGill on

United States

I’m a relatively tech-savvy person. I rarely have issues figuring apps out, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to access my 2nd kid’s funds. I have to add money to my first kid’s account and transfer? But then I can’t see the balance for my 2nd kid. I don’t know. It’s unnecessarily frustrating. I’d much prefer to pay the school directly.

Much room to develop

How i wish school-related apps could be improved. Not sure how the local government called for tenders and how transparent it was, but believe contractor services has much room to improve, and LinQ is one of them. Not good experience everytime using the apps. They weren’t smooth.

Sketchy

I recently downloaded the LINQ Connect app at the recommendation of my child's school to avoid sending him in with lunch money. Online funding of kids lunch accounts sounds like a solid idea, I was hopeful. Signup was easy enough and I was able to get money into the account quickly. However, there is *always* a convenience fee. $2.85 in my case, even the first time when it clearly states "convenience fee $0.00". I put in $20 and had this $2.85 convenience fee. 15% seems exorbitant for the "convenience". You can't get reimbursed for this hidden fee, even when LINQ has admitted it was a glitch in their software that inaccurately showed a $0.00 convenience fee. Also, there is a maximum amount you can put in at a time, forcing you to pay the convenience fee more often. Their system clearly benefits those that can afford to max out the payment each time, making the per meal cost more expensive for people with less money. Again, funding kids lunch money online is a solid idea, but LINQ's system is too expensive and exploits those that can't afford to max out the payment. I will be sending my child to school with a check to avoid supporting this company. Also, how does the app have this high of rating, look at the reviews. I originally put this review up in August and it was somehow taken down without providing me any notice. Wonder if that’s why it still has a 4 star rating?

Broken

The app is currently broken. It won’t open anything but a white screen. I tried the website as well and it fails to open the sign in when prompted.

Needs another update

Jlhollander on

United States

This app works in that it does what it is supposed to, but not in a great way. The problem with apps that are developed by a large corporation for wide use such as the school system is that they are not used by the people that are developing them. There is absolutely zero reason why I should have to login every time I want to use the app, it should only be prompting me for a login if I need to add money onto my childs account, this is very much a pain in the butt. Especially since the login process isn’t as simple as using face or touch ID. It requires multiple taps on multiple screens to login into the system. I should additionally be able to see exactly what my child purchased that day instead of just showing “meal purchased” on the screen. Additionally, there should be a zero fee structure since this is paying for something that my student needs to use on a regular basis, school is expensive enough without having to pay extra fees for them to have lunch. I would like to know that they are making good choices without having to question them every day. hopefully we will see a positive app update soon.

Okay

Kimmalyyyy on

This app was wonderful before the update. Now it does not show which student had lunch or breakfast. It used to show each students name but now it doesn’t. Please bring back the feature which shows a name text to meals purchased!

Not for the ipad

Sophia910 on

United States

I am disappointed to see that the LinkQ app is just a horrible as the K12 predecessor app. In this age of apps, one would think that you could at least make an ipad friendly version. The orientation is portrait only, which means you have to turn your ipad upside down to use and also renders a keyboard useless on the ipad. I am sad that my district has chosen to stay with this antiquated software.
