Description

Little Digits is a fun educational app that teaches children about numbers via an intuitive spin on the traditional use of finger counting.
Using the multi-touch screen, Little Digits displays number characters by detecting how many fingers you put down. Children can learn to associate the numerical figure on the screen with the number of fingers they place down, whilst enjoying the unique characters and animations of the Little Digits world.
There are also games that introduce small addition and subtraction calculations, where you can work out the answer using the same multi-touch finger detection.
This is an app that will grow with your child's numerical understanding. Not only can they discover numbers through initial independent play, you can also play collaboratively with your child; each putting fingers down to count and work out calculations together. Then when your child is ready, they can work out the answers for themselves, using their own little digits!
Includes 20 pre-recorded languages, giving great facility for children to learn to recognise numbers in languages other than those of their native tongue. Using the microphone you can also record your own voice.
Features:
- Counting to 10 with your fingers
- Number recognition; 0 to 10 and back
- Addition and subtraction games
- Number bonds
- Multilingual; Learn to count in other languages

Child friendly: No in-app purchases, no third-party advertising. Play without WiFi or internet.
Suitable for children between 3 - 7 years old.
Created by Cowly Owl, an independent British micro-studio creating playful digital toys and educational games.

Little Digits Finger Counting Reviews

Can’t work it out

Not intuitive , cannot work out what we’re supposed to do.

Good app with potential for little learners

Neither my 3.5 yr old (nor I!) got it at first... So perhaps a help button with instructions or a link to the developer's website might help... But once I figured it out and was able to show my son he's been very happy playing with it. I'm sure as he grows and learns more about numbers this app will help him.

Great Innovative app

My 3 year old daughter loves this app. Better than most kids apps, unique and educational at the same time. Author is very responsive to your requests. Comes recommended.

It took a while for some of my 4yr olds to get th hang of this. Fabulous for finger dexterity and coordination. Once mastered, they enjoyed making the different monsters appear on screen. Highly recommend.

Looks good, but distracting background music

Bethulia on

I have just bought this. I like the concept and it looks good BUT the background music is quite loud and busy, and I suspect that my daughter, who has learning disabilities and partial hearing loss, will be distracted by the music and not able to hear the names of the numbers. I usually have to knock out the background music with educational apps. When you do your next revision, could you add in an option to switch off the background music. Thanks.

This is a great app as you can record yourself or your child counting to 10 in any language, very important when English is not your first language. Da iawn!

Beautifully crafted kids app

My little toddler girl loves this app, the characters and sounds draw her in and she enjoys exploring the interface. Her mother and I have recorded funny voices for some of the numbers to encourage her to play with multiple touches.
