Local 3 News Reviews

Light font.

local 3 customer on

United States

You could use a darker font on the app. The light gray is hard to read.

CNN

Mrrrmmm on

Stories are from CNN so I guess this is no longer an NBC affiliate. Get off your duffs and get back in the community and report on stories and breaking news. Actually write stories and stop googling for info, so lame.

An NBC station filled with CNN stories

Mrrrmmm on

United States

Really, can’t you at least use NBC and not CNN as your source? This app is clunky and disjointed, not at all like the previous one. What stands out is the lack of local news, where staff actually go into the community and flesh out stories, it’s the ultimate in laziness.

Poor app, worse coverage.

irek01010101010101 on

United States

The app is just…not good. But even that could be overlooked if it weren’t for the terrible news coverage. Just a handful of news articles posted per day, and those are filled with typos, grammatical errors, or even complete omission of words, which makes the articles difficult to read. I’m no expert, and I didn’t go to journalism school, but you would think all these obviously recent grads they have hired, they would know how to properly write a news story. Sad. Uninstalled.

Live tv for news does not work

Buzzed Ewok on

Lack of live streaming hurts this app a lot.

Not acceptable

Saru12079 on

Since the update it is completely inaccessible to those of us who use accessibility features such as dynamic text and voiceover. Therefore, making it completely unusableTo the blind. I am very disappointed by this.

Rebranding gone Wrong

apqjdydh on

United States

My family has been a loyal WRCB-TV family for many years. And like others, we’ve rolled with times and changes. One expects a larger company to buyout multiple smaller companies and rebranding to be done. Even changing a name to something “simpler for customers” is totally understandable. However to change a design and layout so much so, that the news one would normally see isn’t even there is going one step too far. To not include some of the national and world news makes absolutely no sense, in that it directly effects our state and therefore our city. A pebble thrown into a pound causes ripples, in-turn the entire pond is somehow affected. Our city is a ripple that isn’t being acknowledged on this new rebranded app. For that matter, local news is hardly present as is or rarely updates. If you have to swipe up, down, left, and right just to simply get a story that you find is actually a day old. It doesn’t really give you a reason to want to go further. The weather portion, while I can say is definitely better in that it’s more detailed, it often glitches and shuts down the app when you try to see the 7 day forecast. I know much time and effort were probably put into this update, but unfortunately the goal was missed. Wish you all the best, but I guess it’s time this family does some rebranding of it’s own and finds another news station with an app that actually gives us the news.

I miss the old app!

Moose2348907 on

United States

This new app is awful. The old one was easy to navigate, had tons of news articles, wasn’t covered in ads, and the livestream actually worked!!! It’s a pretty safe bet now that when I try to watch the livestream of the news, I’ll just get a commercial, and then a black screen with no sound. I really missed Channel 3 news before the rebranding to “Local 3”.

Terrible app

j.brown95 on

United States

Used to be so much better when it was WRCB. With the new rebrand this app has become borderline unusable. I’m wondering if this updated app was actually made by a child. It’s that bad.

Not a news app

Beta Test 1 on

United States

This app is dysfunctional in its layout, gotta scroll up, down and sideways. There is so very little NEWS in the app that it really is not worth calling it a news app. They cover one or two stories a day, if you're lucky. And, the stories that they do cover are usually a day or more old. WTVC at least makes an attempt to publish information (if you can ignore the bad writing /editing). Watching the live show on channel 3 is better.
